Title: What's Past is Present
Author: [personal profile] elrhiarhodan / [tumblr.com profile] elrhiarhodan / [archiveofourown.org profile] elrhiarhodan
Fandom: White Collar, Kingsman (Movies)
Rating: Mature
Characters: Neal Caffrey, Peter Burke, June Ellington, Mozzie, Elizabeth Burke, Sachmo, Bugsy; Harry Hart, Eggsy Unwin, Merlin
Pairings: Neal Caffrey/Peter Burke, Peter Burke/Elizabeth Burke, Harry Hart/Eggsy Unwin, Harry Hart/Neal Caffrey (past)
Word Count: ~18,500
Spoilers: None
Warnings/Enticements/Triggers: Canon Levels of Violence
Summary: Set in a universe where Season 6 of White Collar didn't happen, Peter asks Neal - now a year or so off of the anklet - for some help with a art theft case. Ironically, it's antiquities from the Mosul Museum, which had been sacked by ISIL in 2015, that are being sold by a gallery on Park Avenue. Neal's eager to assist, at least until he sees the buyer's name. It's one he's unfortunately familiar with - Henry DeVere.

Harry Hart and his new husband, Eggsy, had their honeymoon in Italy rather rudely disrupted when an old target resurfaces in New York City.

It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt, or, don't blackmail spies. They really don't like that sort of thing.

Author’s Note: I started writing this in 2018, as a Chocolate Box treat, but set it aside when I got stuck (when my characters started behaving badly). I found it last week and realized that they were behaving badly and going all out of character because I wasn't being very nice to them. They just needed a little kindness to get them back on track.

Like many of my White Collar stories, it's based upon something I read in the New York Times. In this case, it's about the New York District Attorney's aggressive prosecution of the sale and possession of looted and stolen art. You can read the article here.

What's Past Is Present - Read on AO3
elrhiarhodan: (S2 Promo - Neal - Peter)

The Eighth Anniversary of the airing of the White Collar Pilot episode is on October 23. Time for another round of Caffrey-Burke Day!

In case you didn’t catch it the previous years, let me quickly tell you what Caffrey-Burke Day ISN’T:

It is not a swap.
It is not a challenge.
It is not slash-only.
It is not gen-only.

In fact, there are no sign-ups or any rules except that your fanwork should celebrate the awesomeness that is the Peter & Neal relationship we love so very much.

How can you participate? It’s simple:

On or around October 23, publish a White Collar fanwork that focuses on or otherwise features the relationship between Peter and Neal. Any fanwork. Any subject matter. Any pairing. Any genre. Then, when you
cross-post or otherwise promote your work, merely include in the summary or author note that it is for “Caffrey-Burke Day”.

That’s it.

If you’ve got any questions, feel free to leave a comment, but I think it’s pretty straightforward:

1. Create fanwork focusing on Peter and Neal, any medium, any length, any subject matter
2. Publish on or around October 23
3. Mention it’s for “Caffrey-Burke Day”

A couple days later, the mods will post a masterlist of all fanwork right here in the [livejournal.com profile] caffrey_burke comm on LiveJournal.  We’re also looking at setting up a Caffrey-Burke Day archive on AO3, and we’ll let you know when that goes live.

If you’re interested in the previous masterlists and want to spend the next few days indulging in lots of awesome Peter & Neal goodness, click here and here and here and here and here respectively.

I would like to thank [livejournal.com profile] rabidchild for coming up with the initial idea and for hosting the first two Caffrey-Burke Days.

RC, you are awesome and we miss you muchly in our little fandom. *hugs* Thank you for allowing us to continue this!

ETA: We have a snazzy AO3 collection now, so if you post to AO3, you can add it to the Caffrey-Burke Day collection!

Rating: PG-13
Characters/Pairings: Neal Caffrey, Peter Burke; Peter/Neal
Spoilers: None
Warnings/Enticements/Triggers: Reference to prior attempted sexual abuse of a child, attempted non-con, minor act of animal cruelty and threats of grooming and kidnapping in the context of a fever-induced nightmare.
Word Count: ~7300

Summary: Set early in the Wonder(ful) Years 'verse and inspired by [livejournal.com profile] kanarek13's artwork, A Winter's Tale, Peter and Neal are seniors at Harvard and get caught up in an early-season snowball fight. But it doesn't end with the last snowball Peter throws.

A prequel to Such Very Good Friends; Delicious Soup; and All the Little Things That You Do.

A/N: Written for the fourth annual Caffrey-Burke Day fandom event, celebrating the sixth anniversary of the premier of White Collar. Many, many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sinfulslasher for organizing this event.

Artwork by [livejournal.com profile] kanarek13, who always inspires me to ever greater heights.

And of course, eternal gratitude to my friends who attended this month's White Collar meet-up – your love for this 'verse and your endless encouragement keep me going strong.

Fandom: White Collar
Rating: PG-13
Characters/Pairings: Neal Caffrey, Peter Burke, Elizabeth Burke, Peter/Neal, Peter/Elizabeth, eventual Peter/Elizabeth/Neal
Spoilers: None. This story takes place in a universe where Season 6 never happened.

Summary: Nearly four years have passed since Peter told the Powers that Be that if they didn't release Neal Caffrey from his sentence, he was quitting the FBI. They took him at his word and Neal was freed. Although Neal no longer works for the FBI, Peter remains his closest friend and more than that, he's the one person Neal wants but believes he can never have. For his part, Peter is almost unbearably proud of Neal, who has embraced the life of a solid and productive citizen. He loves Neal but won't even allow himself to dream of anything more than friendship It's a good thing that Elizabeth is the sensible one in this relationship.

A/N: A gift for my very dearest friend, [livejournal.com profile] kanarek13, because she deserves every wonderful thing in the universe. This was not supposed to be a story about love and longing. It was not supposed to be filled with angst and pain. It was supposed to be a silly riff on a newly acquired tool for Peter's household chores. Something happened along the way.

Summary: A White Collar A/U set in 18th Century Vienna. Neal is a composer struggling with the orchestration of his greatest work, and one of the most scandalous ever written. Peter Burke, a wealthy English nobleman, has come to him with an intriguing offer – to fund the production of that opera. But Neal is wary and becomes even warier when he's summoned to the Burkes' quarters by Lady Elizabeth Burke.

Earlier chapters: Orchestration – Prelude (Andante) | Orchestration – First Movement (Adagio).

Author’s Note: Written for my dearest friend, [livejournal.com profile] theatregirl7299, on the occasion of her birthday. She has been waiting so patiently for me to continue this work-in-progress and eventually, I just may finish it. Eventually.

I hope you have had a wonderfully special birthday, my friend.

Additional author's notes at the end.
