Ooooh, a Shiny Thing

On very rare occasion, I've posted pictures of my beadwork here. I don't know why, but I'm always reluctant to share that part of my life on Dreamwidth. Maybe because DW is for fannish things, and beading has always been very much IRL.

Czech glass cabochons, Czech glass shaped beads, vintage metal filigrees, molded glass cabochons, Kammererite cabochon
I'm especially proud of this piece, and wanted to share it. It's my entry for the bi-monthly "mini-challenge" for Beadingschool Academy, for the theme "Fairy Forest". Beadingschool is a European-based subscription box, but the value isn't the beads and other goodies, but the tight-knit community from all over the world.

I make and make and make and wear nothing! I just enjoy the act of creation.

I think, in total, this took about twenty hours, which isn't too bad. There wasn't a lot of reworking, which is something that really gets me down. The five-stone piece at the bottom took me the longest, and had to rip it out and remake it about three times. The shape of the stones was a challenge.
