Summary: Peter Burke, a young FBI agent, meets June and Byron Ellington during an investigation of a series of mortgage fraud cases. They take him under their wing and become his surrogate family. During his first visit to the Ellington mansion, he sees a magnificent portrait of a young man and becomes captivated. June and Byron invite him to spend Christmas Eve with them, and he begins to notice something wonderful about the portrait. For a little while, it comes to life. For almost twenty-five years, Peter spends Christmas Eve with the Ellingtons, and each year, he grows closer to the man in the portrait.
A/N: Inspired by
kanarek13's artwork – or more accurately, the concept that Kanarek told me about, which set my brain whirring. I had the basic idea of this story plotted out before she finished the piece. I'm only sorry it's taken longer than I'd planned to finish it.

Rating: PG-13
Characters/Pairings: Peter Burke, Neal Caffrey, Clinton Jones, Diana Berrigan, Mozzie, Ellen Parker; Peter-Neal, pre-Peter/Neal, Peter/Neal
Word Count: ~4300
Spoilers: None
Warnings/Enticements/Triggers: Brief reference to intentional humiliation of students by a teacher, reference to underage (16 and 17 year olds) sexual activity, nothing explicit.
Beta Credit:
sinfulslasher
Summary: Set very early in the Wonder(ful) Years 'verse, four vignettes of Peter and Neal's life in junior high and high school.
Author’s Note: Written as an extra day (Day 9) for my Fic-Can-Ukah meme, for
pooh_collector, who picked the prompts, "There is always one more silence" and requested a fill in the Wonder(ful) Years 'verse. I also promised not to write super-sad death/dying fic for her, even though this prompt really could have gone that way. Instead, she'd getting super-young Peter and Neal.
Many thanks (again) to my creative co-conspirator,
kanarek13, who provided the lovely and spoilerly artwork for the end of the story.

Summary: It's Christmastime in The Wonder(ful) Years, and Peter has a minor accident when he picks up a special present for Neal. This is complete and utter schmoop.
Author’s Note: Written for Day 7 of Fic-Can-Ukah, for
sherylyn, who selected the prompt "Soaking in a tub". She'd originally asked for a story in the Wonder(ful) Years 'verse but I'd told her I'd just written something that involved bathtub in that world, so she gave me permission to write in any verse. But then I got completely and utterly bunnied by
kanarek13's first offering for the 2015 White Collar H/C Advent, Hard Fall and everything fell into place.
And I'm once again taking advantage of the fact that the days of Chanukah run from sundown to sundown, so technically, this is still the seventh DAY of the holiday.

kanarek13 "This is the geography of his body" – Anything Peter/Neal. This is actually a joint inspiration. A few weeks back, I was very intensely bunnied by a piece of Kanarek's artwork (what else is new) called Rescue, and I was so delighted to be able to work Kanarek's chosen prompt into the story that was already eating my brain.
And when I starting brainstorming the idea with Kanarek, she came up with other awesome artwork to keep my inspiration at a high boiling point and then created the cover.
My deepest thanks to my alpha reader and cheerleader,

A few of my friend write the Twelve Days of Ficmas and many others on my flist participate in Yuletide and have fun filling Fandom Stockings. My gift to you, my awesome flist, comes on the eight days of Fic-can-ukah, which coincidentally occur on the eight nights of Hanukkah.
But you say, "Elr, it’s only the end of October, what’s this with Hanukkah?" Between work and the November posting of the WC Big Bang, and the WC H/C Advent, I've got a lot on my plate. Also, this year, the Festival of Lights begins in early December. With any luck, I’ll have all of the stories finished and ready to go before we light the first candle (although I suspect that I might be writing the last few at the wire).
Fic-can-ukah works like this:
I will write a short fic(let) for each of the eight days. And by short, I mean 300-500 words (yeah,
sinfulslasher stop laughing, please – I know that last year’s average was >5k). To make this easy on me (because I know my limitations), I'm giving you the prompts, and you get to pick which prompt you want me to write and the character(s) and/or pairing(s), and/or an existing ‘verse, or if it's simply writer's choice.
The prompts:
The light of lamps and candles - Day 12 -

Memory as thick as time
The antidote to pain

These are the stories of my father

Verses I really want to write in this year:
Wonder(ful) Years
Dragon'Verse
Paladin'Verse
The Vinegar Hill Continuum
Unusual Relations (Hughes and Mozzie)
Orchestration
Gloriana 'Verse
An Ordinary Life 'Verse (Veterinarian Neal)
Nothing Will Remain 'Verse
I'm also not averse to timestamping these longer fics, with the right prompt:
Return and Rebuild the Desolate Places
A Forever Kind of Family
Fortune's Just a One Night Stand
Love Is As Rich As the Sea
First come, first served and one prompt per person. And yes, I am aware that none of these prompts are particularly fluffy or holiday oriented. In fact, they’re all kind of angsty. Just the way I like ‘em.
So, if you want a timestamp from a current 'verse or an older story, let me know, and I will try to honor your request (but I may chose otherwise, too). The only story I won’t/can’t timestamp is Rubbing Elbows With the Moon. Also this year, I’m not writing WC RPS – just don’t have the feel for it at the moment.
Of course, if more than eight people sign up, I will try to fill everyone's request, but I will only guarantee the first eight. Fills will be posted starting Sunday, December 6th.
Participation is ecumenical - there is nothing inherently Jewish about Fic-can-ukah, and you don't have to be Jewish to sign up. The stories won't necessarily be holiday oriented, either. Just think of this as my masochistic version of Fandom Stocking.

Summary: Set early in the Wonder(ful) Years 'verse and inspired by

Title: If Nothing is Given, Then Nothing is Required
Author:
elrhiarhodan
Fandom: White Collar
Rating: R
Characters/Pairings: Peter Burke, Neal Caffrey, Elizabeth Burke, Satchmo; Peter/Elizabeth, Pre-Peter/Neal, Neal/Kate
Word Count: ~5000
Spoilers: None
Warnings/Enticements/Triggers: Reference to possible hard drug usage
Beta Credit: None
Summary: Set very early in Season One, between Pilot and Flip of the Coin. Peter and Neal are still feeling their way through their very complex relationship, when Peter gets a call from the Marshals. In the wee small hours of the morning, Neal crossed out of his radius three times and the Marshals want to know why. So does Peter.
Author’s Note: Written for
runthecon, from a tag from
pooh_collector, "In the Bathtub". I do have to admit, this probably isn't what Pooh was expecting. But then I remembered an exchange between Tim and Matt in the March 2010 Webcast. See endnotes for the exact quotation.

White Collar Fic - Wisdom Lies in Wait
Jul. 18th, 2015 08:22 amTitle: Wisdom Lies in Wait
Author:
elrhiarhodan
Fandom: White Collar
Rating: PG-13
Characters/Pairings: Neal Caffrey, Peter Burke, Elizabeth Burke, Peter/Neal, Peter/Elizabeth, eventual Peter/Elizabeth/Neal
Spoilers: None. This story takes place in a universe where Season 6 never happened.
Warnings/Enticements/Triggers: None
Word Count: ~5500
Beta Credit:
sinfulslasher
Summary: Nearly four years have passed since Peter told the Powers that Be that if they didn't release Neal Caffrey from his sentence, he was quitting the FBI. They took him at his word and Neal was freed. Although Neal no longer works for the FBI, Peter remains his closest friend and more than that, he's the one person Neal wants but believes he can never have. For his part, Peter is almost unbearably proud of Neal, who has embraced the life of a solid and productive citizen. He loves Neal but won't even allow himself to dream of anything more than friendship It's a good thing that Elizabeth is the sensible one in this relationship.
A/N: A gift for my very dearest friend,
kanarek13, because she deserves every wonderful thing in the universe. This was not supposed to be a story about love and longing. It was not supposed to be filled with angst and pain. It was supposed to be a silly riff on a newly acquired tool for Peter's household chores. Something happened along the way.

Summary: An alternate universe partially based on the characters and location in "Upper West Side Story", but with a twist - of the "Victor/Victoria" kind. Neal Caffrey teaches European History, but has an interesting and potentially career-damaging gig at his godmother's nightclub. Enter Peter Burke, talent agent and an old friend of June's, who plays the fairy godmother role to the hilt.
