I'm down to the last three prompts on the entry, and would be delighted to get some new ones for this writing meme. Give me a character or pairing and an A/U or crossover situation, and I'll write a complete response, in only three-sentences.

You can leave up to prompts in a row and reprompt me when I've filled all of them.

Leave your prompts here, on the original post.

You may know [livejournal.com profile] coffeethyme4me as one of the most highly talented writers in the White Collar fandom - she brings Peter and Neal to life with emotionally intelligent and scorchingly hot porn. And I am so pleased to say that after a too-long hiatus, she is back with us in the WC fandom. But what you may not know is that during her absence from this fandom, Coffee has been hard at work in HP-dom.

As [livejournal.com profile] traintracks777, she has been writing Harry/Sirius with the same level of achingly beautiful brilliance - and is basically dividing her time between White Collar and Harry Potter. I highly recommend friending her and reading her exquisite fic - even if you aren't into the HP fandom.

We're at the Start of Week Two, and over the last 7 days, you've added 153 more sentences to the fest.

I must that I am very proud of everyone who's participated over the last week - I've been an absentee landlord for a few reasons - most of which is that I've been consumed by work and a new fic that's been eating at my brain, leaving no room for much of anything else.  But everyone's played so nicely, and the contributions are terrific.

Thank you!

We'll try and add all of the prompts that were given in the sentences to the master prompt list today, but I'm adding a bunch of fresh new prompts.  46, to be precise.  Why 46?  Well, you'll see as soon as you check them out.

A few bits of housekeeping:
  • The Fest will run as long as you are having fun writing...last time, we went for a full month, and I hope that interest will continue for that long, too.
  • Like last time, I will open a new journal entry for the Fest when there are over 10 pages of comments.  It just makes it easier to track and manage.  Of course, there will be internal links and all the prompts will be forwarded to the new pages.
  • I hope to do daily updates, but I suspect that there will be days when that isn't possible.  I also hope to be able to comment on all of the fills, too.  If I don't comment, it's because time is a finite quantity, not because I don't love and appreciate each and every gem (and they are).
  • If you're keeping track of your own counts and they differ from mine, yours are probably more accurate.  Just let me know, and I'll fix them.

YOU ARE ALL AWESOME.

The recently re-launched [livejournal.com profile] whitecollarhc has started a comment fic fest based on the theme of kidnapping and abduction. So, go over there, leave a prompt, write a fill, and no one will get hurt.

It's being run by the awesome [livejournal.com profile] rabidchild67 so you know that everything is under control. She'll even provide proof of life, if you need it.

My plan had been to run Promptfest VI - Summertime Madness until the end of July. But with the DDOS attack on LJ, I'm going to leave it opened for a few more days, just in case anyone wants to write a few more fills (and I absolutely encourage you to do so). It will close for purposes of prizes, at 11:59 pm, Wednesday, August 3rd.

Speaking of prizes, I'm finally ready to disclose what the winners will receive - a professionally printed book (printed through Blurb.com) with all of the winners' stories, illustrated with screen caps from White Collar episodes. This is a work that will take some time to complete - but I do promise to have it finished by the end of the year holidays.

I'll do another recap post this weekend and the final tallies will be posted on Thursday.

Keep on writing!

Promptfest VI - Summertime Madness is still going on (and will continue at least until the end of the month). It's opened to everyone, so come on and join the madness.

I will post an update tonight with links to all of the fantastic fills (there are close to 60 completely new stories so far!).

Even if you don't want to write, you should stop by and read and cheer on your favorite authors!

Promptest VI is underway, and we’ve got a whole lot of truly amazing fills - Thirty-Seven in all (which may be a record for the first day).

Usually, my own timing is better and I’m writing up a storm of responses, but I got hit with a summer cold that’s just about knocked me flat today. My imagination is taking a backseat to a rather raging headache. But never fear, I will respond, fill and reprompt every one of you. And if I haven't commented, I will do so soon too.

I would also like to take the time to thank and welcome a few new writers to Promptest - [livejournal.com profile] aisle_one, [livejournal.com profile] teaotter and [livejournal.com profile] sugakane_01. Thank you for joining in the fun. If you are waiting for me to reprompt you, please don’t stand on ceremony - take another prompt from the master list and keep on writing. I will catch up with you soon.

Remember - this fest is not limited to my flist, so feel free to pimp it on your own LJs and anywhere else that’s appropriate.

Keep on writing, my friends!

Just want to remind all of you on my flist - the month of June will be filled to the brim with some very excellent White Collar fanfic. The theme of the comm is "Pairings" - and the stories range from romance to hurt/comfort to the complete seksi to friendship. In each of them - the authors have explored relationships between the canon characters.

The community [livejournal.com profile] wcpairings has begun posting the results of their Round 1 Swap, and a new story will be added to the community each morning.

Because the swap is a double blind - the authors don't know who they are writing for, and the reveal won't take place until the last fic is posted (sometime during the last week in June) none of the fics will be reposted on the general WC story comms until the end of the month at the earliest.

So - if you are looking for a lot of really spectacular White Collar fic, be sure to become a member, or at least watch [livejournal.com profile] wcpairings.

White Collar Pairings ( [livejournal.com profile] wcpairings  ) is a new community that my dear friend and very talented author, [livejournal.com profile] rabidchild67, and I have just launched.  Its focus is on relationships - slash and OT3 pairings, as well as canonical ones too.

Signups are CLOSING TODAY AT 11:59:59 PM - APRIL 23!
We hope that you'll jump on the opportunity to give a little something sexy to your fellow slashers and OT3 lovers.

Rules and the signup post can be found at the comm!  Please come and play.  The more, the merrier, I always say.

My apologies again for the serious lagging on the updates - the one day I had the time to do the update, LJ was down. In a general post a week or so ago, I mentioned that I was going to stick a stake in the ground and close this edition of 'fest...but we are still going, and I know that people still want to write. We actually have a new player - Attackfish (welcome!) who has not only plunged into the sentence writing, she's also diving into writing of the White Collar fandom for the very first time.

As always, I can’t promise that my count isn’t 100% accurate; so please forgive me and let me know if I am egregiously in error

I am working on collating all of the fills by type and starting a fourth post for the Single Sentence Challenge - so you'll see that tomorrow. It's going to run at through April 10th, which means it'll have gone on exactly one month (and the 10th is a sunday and my birfday, so it would be a good day to shut it down). I expect the fills to completely taper off by then anyway, but you ladies keep surprising me..

The totals below include fills through comment pages 9 - 19 on the third SSC post , to Friday, April 1 at 3:16 pm. The last counted fill was Coffeethyme4me's: Peter - Curious, for Lionness.

Attackfish - 11
Afallenseraphim – 9
Afiawri – 10
Be_a_rebel – 4
Coffeethyme4me – 194
Damietta – 22

To put this achievement into perspective, there have been three rounds on Collarkink - the first one opened in October 2009, and it took six months to get to 3190 comments, it took from March to September for Round Two to break 4000 comment, and from September to today for CollarKink Round Three to make it to 3200 comments. It has taken my flist less than a month (22 days to be precise) to get to nearly 5000 comments.

I SALUTE YOU ALL!!!

I also have to note that even though I am not leaving many comments, it's not because I'm not reading them. I have very restricted access during the workday now, and it's very cumbersome to comment. I keep meaning to spend quality time with your fills at night, but things like life seem to get in the way.

I know some of you have been keeping track of your word counts, and if you can let me know what they are in a comment to the post, I’ll start tallying those up to. YOU GALS ARE INCREDIBLE.

As always, hugs and much to my co-mods, Coffeethyme4me and Rabidchild67.

And to you, my talented and crazy flist.

Signups are now opened (and will be for the next month or so) and we hope that you'll jump on the opportunity to give a little something sexy
to your fellow slashers and OT3 lovers.

Rules and the signup post can be found at the comm, and I'm going to keep bugging you to come and play.  The more, the merrier, I always say.

I know I've been kind of quiet lately. Or at least it feels that way, even though I've barely had a day without a post on LJ. But there hasn't been a lot of fanfic (again, it feels that way but my archive tells me that I've published two new longish stories in the last ten days, plus a few chapters of Danger'verse, plus a republishing of another story).

It just feels like I have been been writing anything - and that's actually sort of true. I've been blocked by how the season ended, the 2.16 tag I wrote not withstanding (the Neal/Sara story was mostly written before UTR aired).

I've also been trying to get my "epic" done - and I am pleased to say that almost all of the hard work is finished. There's still about 8 - 10k left in the story, but after 4 months, I am delighted to say that the ending is fully in sight. I suspect it will top out at around 70k (it's 61k now), and I'm going to publish one or two chapters a week.

There are other stories percolating - I've got my Queensland Relief stories to finish, plus the Remix I signed up for. The good news for the QRF stories is that I know where I'm going with all of them.

BUT - and this is a big BUT (sort of like the one that's in my chair right now) - I have a newsletter I have to write and mail (snail mail, guh) within the next ten days - so the fanfic is going to have to take a back seat to the pleasure of writing about Egyptian Revival in Art Deco Era porcelain. Yeah...it's a real thing. Since I need to get that out the door by the first week in April, I've got to spend some quality time on it this week and next. I like doing this newsletter - but I like writing fan fic more.

In other news...I'm still blocked from LJ at work - but my iPad (which I had purchased expressly for accessing LJ at work) is a lifesaver. But it does have limitations, which is probably the Number One reason for the lack of daytime postings.

And still, the Single Sentence Challenge Promptfest rolls on, with no ending in sight. We are now on the third post for the fest, there are almost 3900 comments and over 1000 fills. If you ever have felt the urge to write, but don't know where to get started, this is a good place. It's remarkably easy to tell a whole story in a single sentence - and a lot of fun. My dearest co-moderator, [livejournal.com profile] coffeethyme4me has written 150 sentences for 150 prompts (give or take), and her word count is over 12,000. This fest is going to keep on rolling along for another week or so (all good things do come to an end), and April 1 is probably a good (and auspicious) day to shove a stake in the ground. This fest is (like all fests), closed to just my flist for the writing duration, but will be opened up for reading by the general public after it ends.

What else, what else my dear flist? Don't forget to check out White Collar Fixation on Tuesday evenings - I have a regular column there, "Thinky Thoughts on Seminal Scenes," and I am going episode by episode. This week, Threads is under the microscope, particulary the way it establishes the relationship between Elizabeth and Peter. I should say - you should be checking out WCF every day, for all the White Collar News and pictures and pic spam and fan fic recommendations you'll ever need.

Fifteen days of writing, dozens of different prompts, and over 170 fills. That is pretty damn incredible.

Many of the authors who participated have started to post their fills on their LJs and on the comms, but many have not. As with the previous 'Fests, I am providing a master list of fills with links to the now un-flocked entry in my LJ.

There are a lot of fills, so it's going under a cut.

Master List of Fills )

Please give all of these authors a big round of applause - they've written almost non-stop. I don't yet have an exact wordcount, but I estimate that there are over 100k words in PFV. That's the equivalent of a novel - and it's all the highest quality fic. There's something for everyone - humor and angst and a/u and poetry and porn (what did you expect with a prompt "Peter - Leather"?), and friendship and gen and het. And it's all wonderful.

Authors - if I've missed any of your fills, let me know (and please include a link if possible) so I can update and correct this list.

If you are wondering about my fills - the are all linked on my own masterlist.

I know this is like the third or fourth post of the day, so apologies in advance for spamming your flists, but I wanted to let you know that I've still got my favorite meme going - the DVD commentary meme.  You can pick a fic, or a passage from a fic and ask me questions about it (the pimpage).  Several of my very talented friends are doing this meme too, and you need to check out their Masterlists and ask them about their fics too (signal boosting).

I've been alerted that Willie Garson is offering lunch and a tour of the White Collar set in a charity auction for The True Colors Fund.

The current bid is $750, and the auction closes at 12:32 pm on February 10, 2011.  You can read more about it and place your bid here.

[livejournal.com profile] mistress_shiny and my dear friend, [livejournal.com profile] usakeh have organized an auction to assist the flood victims in Brazil - [livejournal.com profile] helpbrazil2011.

I know that a lot of you have signed up for the Queenland flood relief auction, and a lot of you have bid on fic, but this is another sadly worthy cause that deeply deserves all the attention that it can get.

Signups for offering fic and artwork and for bidding are opened until 1200 GMT January 31, 2011.

If you've already donated, the moderators are most grateful. If you haven't yet - please do. The situation in dire and every little bit will help.

Thank you for your time and attention.

elrhiarhodan: (Peter - You Didn't Graduate High School?)

This is the first time I've signed up for any type of charity auction - I just have this dreadful fear that no one will bid for my writing.  But I've decided to take the plunge (no pun intended) with the Queensland Flood Relief Auction.  You can bid on my entry here.

Here are the details:

Fandom: White Collar

Pairings: My primary pairings are Peter/Neal and Peter/Neal/Elizabeth, but I'll write odd pairings too (except I don't write Kate or Sara - I don't dislike the characters, I just don't have a feel for them).

Requirements: Every $1.00 gets 100 words, minimum

Notes: I write Slash, Het, Gen, Friendship, Hurt/Comfort, Angst, A/U, Canon, Crossovers, Case!Fic, Porn with Plot, Porn without Plot, Edu!Porn, but I strongly favor a Peter & Neal relationship. If you want a crossover, I'll do Lie to Me, Torchwood, Criminal Minds, Farscape, The West Wing, Law and Order, The Curse of Chalion, The Vampire Saint Germaine series, Burn Notice, The Pretender. If you do want a crossover with a show/work not mentioned, ask and I'll try to accomodate you.

More Notes: I work best with non-specific prompts...ideas, concepts, songs. I can write for a specific prompt, but I'll go longer and more elaborate with a vague idea (e.g., Neal - Snow) than with a detailed prompt (e.g., Neal gets stuck in a snowstorm with Peter and they have to snuggle naked to keep warm).

Get your prompts, hot and fresh, just like momma used to make 'em.

The One Word - Two Words - Three Words Prompfest is open for business and waiting for you to come and play.  There are a bunch of starter prompt available - if you don't like any of them, just ask for a new one, this is meant to be fun, not work.  There are also lots of great ficlets already posted and if you don't feel like writing, please drop by and read what your fellow flisters have written.

If you just want to leave me a prompt, I'll be happy to try to fill it, no need for reciprocity.

Please, please come play!
