In your own space, ask for recs. Something as simple as "I like XYZ (where XYZ is a kink, a pairing, a trope, etc) - please rec me some." Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Okay - please rec me! I want to read outside my comfort zone, so I'm looking for recs for:

Torchwood (Jake/Gwen more than Jack/Ianto)
Doctor Who (Nine intrigues me more than Eleven)
Star Trek IXXI (All arrangements are welcome)
Harry Potter (Rare pairings preferred, anything with Sirius Black preferred)
The Curse of Chalion (or the whole series)
Sherlock Holmes (Granada or BBC, not the movie'verse, pls)

And anything else wonderful in any other fandom that you think I'd enjoy. Or something by your favorite writer or something unusual and unique that pushed YOUR buttons.

You know, Sirius/Harry is one of the rare slash pairings that I am not a huge fan of for some reason, so I don't have anything off the top of my head. However, snegurochka_lee is a frequent reccer and has a Sirius/Harry (http://snegurochka-lee.livejournal.com/tag/fic%20recs%3A%20sirius%2Fharry) tag that might yield some goodies. :-)

Okay, I'm back to do Star Trek. Is there anything in particular you're looking for or not looking for? Long fic vs oneshots, AU's vs. canon, etc.? For now I'll give you a sampling.

I know this is sort of heavy on the Kirk/McCoy. Let me know if you are drawn to other pairings/characters and I'll see what I can find. :-)

I like Kirk/McCoy for the reboot, but good stuff for any pairing is welcome.

Ooh, you know what else you might like? The AU where Kirk and McCoy are both writers: Unwritten (http://ayalesca.livejournal.com/169284.html) by ayalesca (NC-17). It's long (40K) but so, so gorgeous, with lots of interesting musings on writing and stories. (Do mind the minor character death, which occurs off-screen and pre-fic but does lend an undercurrent of wistful sadness to the main narrative. Happy to tell you who it is if you think it might be a problem.)
