Post Ep Dish - S5.13 - Diamond Exchange
Jan. 30th, 2014 10:16 pmOh My God - this is it. Season and possibly series finale. Thirteen weeks have never gone so fast. Okay, technically sixteen, since they took off a few for the holidays.
Honestly, I'm at a loss about what to write at this juncture, so I'm going to do a lot of digesting tonight and give you just a few quick thoughts. This is probably the briefest Dish I've done in a long time - I find myself overwhelmed by everything.
( A few spoilers, of course )

Post Ep Dish - S5.12 - Taking Stock
Jan. 23rd, 2014 11:01 pmHard to believe that this is the next to last episode. And I have to say that the promos and sneak peaks didn't give me a lot to love about this. Not that the story was going to be weak, but that the feels would, again, be off.
I have some thoughts, some of them less than fannish, about what has been happening over the last few episodes, but I'm going to save them for a post season wrap up. Such deep and potentially divisive meta is not the point of the Dish...I'm here to squee about Taking Stock and share my love for the best parts of it.
( Really, do I have to tell you that there are spoilers under the cut? )

This one's going to be painfully, but hopefully there will be a light at the end of this long, dark tunnel for Peter and Neal and their dying friendship. However, like with the renewal, I'm now afraid to hope.
My apologies for the somewhat delayed and slightly truncated edition of this Dish...I'm too engaged in the episode to take notes as it's airing. I will need to do a complete rewatch to give a complete analysis.
( Initial thoughts and squee under the cut. Also, spoilers. )

Post Ep Dish - S5.10 - Live Feed
Jan. 9th, 2014 10:15 pmThis is the ep I've been longing for and dreading in equal amounts. My heart has been aching since the end of No Good Deed, and watching the promos and sneak peeks has made the pain all that much worse.
I didn't know how they'd repair the damage after El had been kidnapped, how they were able to reunite after Judgment Day, but the hurt and distress I've been experiencing these last few weeks tells me that I'm way too invested in White Collar. That's not to say I'm not loving the angst, but I need it fixed NOW, STAT.
(And news about renewal/non-renewal will really help, too).
That being said, I've decided not to do a live squee-type dish. There's too much at stake to miss even a word (which does happen frequently when I'm distracted).
So - I'll be doing more of a best moments (and a bit of a rant) wrap up...it will likely be short and I hope, coherent.
( As if I need to remind you, many serious spoilers under the cut )

Post-Ep Dish - S5.09 - No Good Deed
Dec. 19th, 2013 10:09 pmI think this is the episode we've been waiting for all Season. I'm actually terrified. In fact, I almost don't want to do this - I don't know where it's going or what will happen (I'm pretty unspoiled.
And without further adieu…

Post-Ep Dish - S5.08 - Digging Deeper
Dec. 12th, 2013 10:10 pmIt's White Collar meets Jurassic Park tonight. Apparently dinosaurs are roaming the streets of Manhattan and it's up to Peter and Neal to save the world. I have to wonder just what Mozzie's been up to with his chemistry set.
Going to stick with noting just the high points rather than the Squee of Consciousness. Not that I'm too tired this week, it's just that I found myself enjoying the episode a lot more when I'm not dividing my attention. And my attention doesn't want to be divided with the promise of Nearly Naked Neal tonight.
So, without further adieu, I give you not so many spoilers and a few cogent, thinky thoughts
( And so we begin… )

Post Ep Dish - 5.07 - Quantico Closure
Dec. 5th, 2013 10:22 pmETA: It's the seventh, not the eighth episode, thank you to all who pointed that out.
*Bounces* New White Collar and more importantly, Peter-Centric. Here's to hoping that it's minimal on the mythology. But long enough for Neal to get semi-nekkid and maybe completely horizontal with Rebecca.
Ah - this is Willie's directorial debut.
I'm sort of tired tonight. Long day in a series of long days - mostly my fault. I'm thinking that rather than do a complete squee of consciousness, I'm going to watch, pick out some high and low points and comment briefly. Does that work?
( As always, spoilers under the cut )

Rhett Carlyle, At Your Service
Nov. 22nd, 2013 03:38 pmNo, this isn't another excuse to show this picture:

I was just reading this op-ed piece, A Novel Scorned, and I finally made the connection.
( Am I the only one who needed a week to figure this out? )

Post-Ep Dish - S5.06 - Ice Breaker
Nov. 21st, 2013 10:17 pmI am almost completely unspoiled for this ep. Something to do with Russians and ice skating??? Will we get to see Neal in lycra? Or better, Peter in lycra? Or maybe Moz (not in lycra) is making counterfeit vodka? (Yes, yes, I know that good vodka comes from everyplace BUT Russia). Or maybe this episode will bring my SPQR'verse back to life.
Anyways...after four seasons of Dishing, you all know the drill! Play nice and remember ... ( spoilers ahead… )

Post-Ep Dish - S5.05 - Master Plan
Nov. 14th, 2013 10:28 pmI have to say that I've been looking forward to this episode for a long, long time. Back in May, a bunch of friends and I went set stalking in Brooklyn on a whim. We didn't get to see any filming, but met the lovely and very tiny Mrs. Burke. The "Walcott" Mansion is some uber-upscale club in Brooklyn, btw - not a private residence in the Upper East Side.
Oh, and besides meeting Tiffani, I did get a peek inside the wardrobe trailer. Sadly, no suits or anything quite so interesting...just a lot of bras.

Anyway, I may just post a bunch of promo shots instead of the usual squee of consciousness… Neal in THAT outfit is just enough to send me into incoherence.
( Per usual, spoilers under the cut. And many sexy Neals… )

The blue skies at USA Network seem to be suddenly dark and stormy. A definite shift in tone this season. And we begin another episode of the Post Ep Dish, for Episode 5.04 - Controlling Interest. Been looking forward to this one A LOT...how are they going to resolve all those wonderful dangly plot elements from last week - are they going to draw them out or solve them quickly?
Follow along with me as I squee in real time.
( You know the drill, it's all spoilers under the cut, so proceed with caution my friends. )

Post-Ep Dish - S5.03 - One Last Stakeout
Oct. 31st, 2013 11:00 pmOkay folks, time for this edition of the Post Ep Dish. I’m going to apologize in advance. Had a crappy night followed by a crappy day following by an equally crappy evening and came into this with a bad frame of mind. So, the squee of consciousness got a little dismal at points and please don’t take it as squee-harshing, just my own bad, bad mood.
At least I'm co-watching with my dear friend,
theatregirl7299, who's doing her very best to ignore the funk of negativity that I've been wallowing in.
( As always, there are many, many spoilers are under the cut. Especially towards the end. Naturally, please proceed with caution. )
Anyway - this is the Dish, Season Five, Episode Three - One Last Stakeout. Share your thinky and not-so-thinky thoughts. Where you as blown away as I was?

Okay folks, time for this edition of the Post Ep Dish. Once again, it’s a squee of consciousness, not an in-depth analysis. I’m just too crazed in the head right now to work through my feels. And so many feels there are. Some good, some not so good, some I need to work through.
For what it’s worth, the Dish this week is a little lackluster - I was distracted by the live chat in the
wcwu, and I was also sitting next to my dear friend,
sinfulslasher - which marks the first time I've ever watched an episode live with a fellow fan in the same meetspace.
Just to remind people of the "rules" (such as they are): Don’t harsh my squee (don't bash me for really loving the developments here). I have no problems with people making comments don’t match my viewpoint, but this is a wank-free zone and please don’t be mean or nasty or negative. If you don’t like something, you are perfectly entitled to express your dislike or disagreement, but in terms that would not get you in trouble with your mother (unless she is a rabid fangirl).
( As always, there are many many spoilers are under the cut. Proceed with caution. )
Anyway - this is the Dish, Season Five, Episode Two - Out of the Frying Pan. Remember to play nice. Share your thinky and not-so-thinky thoughts. But in the kindest possible way, 'kay?

Post-Ep Dish - S5.01 - At What Price
Oct. 17th, 2013 10:09 pmIt's the return of the Post-Ep Dish - S5.01 - At What Price
It’s been so damn long. As I noted yesterday, it’s been two hundred fifteen days since the Season 4 finale aired. That works out to:
5160 hours
309,600 minutes
18,576,000 seconds
(give or take a bit)
Over seven months. Sheesh.
And yet, it feels like just yesterday when I was sitting here, typing up the Post Ep Dish for In the Wind, or maybe I’m just confusing it with the fact that I was just sitting here yesterday watching In the Wind.
Anyways, since it’s been a while and there are a lot of new people on my flist since March, just a reminder of the “rules” for commenting on the Dish, such as they are:
Don’t harsh my squee. I have no problems with people making comments that match my viewpoint, but this is a wank-free zone and please don’t be mean or nasty or negative. If you don’t like something, you are perfectly entitled to express your dislike or disagreement, but in terms that would not get you in trouble with your spiritual advisor or your first grade teacher.
( Do I need to remind you, spoilers are under the cut )
Of all the questions I’ve had since the end of Season Four, one has most definitely been answered.
And the answer is a resounding “YES”
( And what was the question? )
Anyway - this is the Dish, Season Five, Episode One...remember to play nice. Share your thoughts, thinky and not-so-thinky.
And like Peter said, it’s good to be back!

If it feels like it's been forever since a new White Collar episode, that's because it's been two hundred fifteen days since In the Wind aired. That works out to:

But tomorrow night, the wait is OVER!!!!!!!!
The weekly community rewatches have been a delightful way to dull the pain of the eight-month hiatus and we're continuing the practice on Monday's at 9 pm Eastern / 6 pm Pacific. But I think that tonight calls for a special community rewatch to get ready for Season 5.
At 8:00 Eastern / 5:00 Pacific , we're going to roll Pilot. Not only is Pilot (otherwise known as Snow White and Her Seven Little Men) a fantastic episode, worth watching at any time, but as you should know by now, the new season is bringing back one very key player from at episode (and I won't spoil you in case you've been living in a cave).
When Pilot is over, we'll take a break for beverage and important tasks, and at 9:30 Eastern / 6:30 Pacific, we'll roll right into the Season Four finale, In The Wind. It doesn't matter if you don't have the S4 DVDs or access to iTunes or Amazon. USA has the complete episode on their site - In The Wind.
I know that these times are probably not convenient for Mountain and Pacific peoples, but doing two episodes back to back means we need an earlier start time. Which is why there will be a West Coast Pilot rewatch starting at 7:30 Pacific / 10:30 Eastern, and then In the Wind will start at 9:00 Pacific / Midnight Eastern.
( In case you’ve never joined us before, the rewatch works this... )

The bromance begins

And after four seasons, the bromance is still strong
