Every once in a while, I need a weekend off.  I mean, I love my RL friends - I love doing things with them, but sometimes, I really just need to chill.  I know I should be working on the MFNL.  I need to come up with a cover first, and work on some of the Convention News, the Frank Lloyd Wright tour, the eBay report.  But I find have little interest in doing any of that.

So, I spent most of yesterday and today sitting in Starbucks and writing White Collar fic.  Not porn...sadly.  Just fic.  (Porn comes later).  And it's not like I need to sit in Starbucks...I've got a perfectly lovely office, outfittled with perfectly lovely monitors and desk lamp and comfy chair.  But for some reason, the creative juices flowed better in an uncomfortably hard chair, surrounded by noisy coffee machines and the O'Jays playing way too often (it seems that Motown is incessent in Starbucks these days...except for about 5 mins yesterday when Mad World played).  Maybe it's the lack of pleasant distractions, like Hulu and the three Jeremy Brett SH DVDs from Netflix, or the workbench or the ... whatever.

The iPad and new bluetooth keyboard (small enough to keep in my glovebox) are perfectly fine for writing.  So long as I'm not at a table that rocks.  I'll be very happy when the new software with multitasking comes out...I'd like to be able to keep some chat windows opened.  Oh, well.  Nothing in life is perfect.  Except my iphone.

Anyway...

Got my hair cut yesterday.  After years of spending a fortune at a high-kick salon, a few months ago, I tried the place adjacent to the Korean nail salon I get my mani/pedi's at.  You know what...I've been getting the best hair cuts and colors of my life.  For like a fucking quarter the price, and without the snobbish attitude.  The cut on Saturday was perfect, except that for some reason, I got hair clippings where hair clippings should never go (okay - TMI).

Watched the new episode of Burn Notice earlier this evening on Hulu.  I think this is the strongest season start ever.  And actually got something done while watching.  I've had this bracelet on the "WIP" pile since before I went to Arizona in early February.

(I have to say, the 50mm f/1.4 is going to be my favorite lens - the bokeah is like heavy cream.)   It's two-count peyote using new size 11 Japanese Toho rounds - two strips for the band, joined with vintage nickel plated Czech size 15 charlottes.  The "butterfly" is simply two pieces made using peyote stitch with beads increasing in size from 11 to 8, all bordered in round nickel-plated size 11s.  The clasp is a cop-out.  After months of searching for something a little more elegant, I ended up just using a .5" snap.  (Stop me if this makes no sense to you)

Oh well, I wanted it done and off my desk, and it is.

What else?

Not much.  Will continue to work on fic for a few more hours.  It's the backstory for my Kink Bingo X - it will fill the center "wildcard box" - I hope.

Everyone should enjoy the rest of their Sunday night.  Have some Chinese food, watch the replays of World Cup soccer.  Write some porn.  Or just do something you're good at.  Even if it's kicking back and doing nothing.

Very best to all of you.

Elr.
