White Collar Single Sentence Challenge II is Now Opened

Single Sentence Challenge Promptfest is BACK

Think you can’t write fanfic? Think again, because Sentence!Fest is a fun way to get your feet wet. Basically, the challenge is to tell a complete story using one sentence only.

Sounds easy, but perhaps it is not. How would you tell your story if you only had the space of one sentence? Would you use dialogue? Action? Emotion? Observation? Would it be haunting? Poetic? Sexy? Tragic?

The rules are simple: Tell a story using one sentence. It can be as long as you want it to be, but it must make sense (imaginary points will be deducted). It can be as short as you want it to be, but make those words count. Tell a story that will provoke the imagination of your readers – one they will demand to have the beginning, middle and end of from you – that is the ultimate goal. Here is an example:

Neal and Peter have the sex.

Here is a better one:

When Peter finally opened his eyes, it was to see his lover's rapt face as Neal rode him, the rising sun forming a perfect golden halo around his dark head; his savior, his angel.

Capice?

This particular ‘fest will operate like any other. Take a prompt, fill a prompt, leave a prompt. There are no limits – multiple folks can fill any and all prompts. Use them to craft a narrative if you like, but each entry must convey an entire scene within that narrative. All subject matter is fair game, so RPF/RPS is allowed. This fest is unlocked and opened to everyone who would like to write.

Cuz Sentencefest can be a little overwhelming, it will be co-moderated by myself, [livejournal.com profile] coffeethyme4me and [livejournal.com profile] rabidchild67 .

Prompts will be found in the first comments below - let the games begin.

Neal – Scrawny

[identity profile] ursula4x.livejournal.com 2011-11-13 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Two and a half years into his sentence, Neal grew a scawny dandelion from a seed that blew into the yard; the guards said it would never grew, but it did, yellow petals reaching for the sun that never came.

Nice and touching.

Breathe

[identity profile] ursula4x.livejournal.com 2011-11-13 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
After all the anger and the hurt, Peter realized that caring for Neal, loving Neal was not something he could stop anymore than he could choose not to breathe.

Ahhhhh. *sweet sigh*
I <3 this so much.

Mushrooms

[identity profile] ursula4x.livejournal.com 2011-11-13 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Moz enjoyed his wine, but he did not care for drugs, never had since the day he tried some mushrooms and walked into a posh jewel store, naked except for glitter and told the staff that he was a diamond stolen from the tower of London.

Where There's a Will

[identity profile] ursula4x.livejournal.com 2011-11-13 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
The aging Mob boss had left Moz something and Moz hoped it was that golden ticket....little did he know that the old man had grown vague and strange, collecting and hoarding cottage cheese...it was true, where there's a will, there's whey.

Prompt: Satchmo: abandoned

You win at life. That is all.

Jones -- Veiled threat

[identity profile] sheenianni.livejournal.com 2011-11-13 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
„Don’t you dare,“ growls Jones at Peter in a not-so veiled threat, because he had known what he was getting into when he became involved with Neal, and he is prepared to surrender his badge if it comes to this, but no matter what issues Peter has had with Neal the last few months, it doesn’t give him the right to judge them, because this isn’t another of Neal’s cons; it’s not, it just isn’t.

Prompts:
Tie
Silly game
Keller – Rainbow

[personal profile] greyminerva 2011-11-14 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, this is edgy and nervous and a bit painful!
Because we KNOW Neal doesn't always think about the people he cares about, and yet we've seen Neal take chances and make sacrifices to save Jones in the past.
Poor Jones - I hope it's real too!

For sheenianni:Keller -- Rainbow

[identity profile] surreal-44.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
(( I'm so sorry this is total crack ))

Few people knew that what drove Keller over the edge...the reason why he was so angry...his own personal torment...was that he'd had "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" stuck in his head since the fourth grade, and he couldn't get it to stop.

Jones/Neal -- What was I thinking?

[personal profile] greyminerva 2011-11-14 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
"What was I thinking?", Clinton thought, and only realized he'd said it out loud when Neal answered (or maybe Neal read his mind, he wouldn't put it past him) with a low, throaty chuckle, his breath tickling his ear; "Why, you were thinking that you just HAD to know what all the fuss was about, Agent Jones, didn't you?".

Re: Jones/Neal -- What was I thinking?

[identity profile] ursula4x.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
I can hear Neal say that and thrill the hell out of anyone.

Jones/Neal -- What was I thinking? II

[personal profile] greyminerva 2011-11-14 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
"What was I thinking," Clinton thought, and apparently Neal really WAS psychic because he answered right away; "You were thinking that this was a bet you couldn't possibly lose, Agent Jones - now take off your shirt as well, reeeeaaal slow; we've got the rest of the night..."

Satchmo - abandoned, for Ursula4x

[personal profile] greyminerva 2011-11-14 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Satchmo waited by the door for hours, because Daddy and Neal had rushed out without giving him his goodbye-pat, and all the strangers in the house were in his favourite spots, and the mood was so tense and strange and nobody filled his bowl or took him for a walk; and when Dad finally came home that night, he smelled bad, like the squirrel that was run over by a car on their morning walk once, and his voice was all wrong and he didn't look at Satchmo at all, even when he licked his hand.

Neal - stranger in a strange land

Peter/Neal - tie, silly game, for Sheenianni

[personal profile] greyminerva 2011-11-14 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
It had started as a silly game, but when Peter threatened him with his tie, Neal's eyes went dark with lust, and just like that the mood went from playful to something very different; now Neal was tied to the headboard with his favourite ties, and Peter was three fingers deep in his ass, watching him squirm and gasp beneath him, helpless and aroused beyond sanity as he begged for cock.

[identity profile] ursula4x.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
Hot!

Something wicked this way comes

[identity profile] ursula4x.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
In the orphanage when the bullies took Mozart too many times, Moz looked up Mandrake root and two of them died, no one much caring about the loss of two behaviorally disturbed teens; when Peter took his Neal, Moz knew that his choice of poison must be even more subtle.

Sims

[identity profile] ursula4x.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
The thing that Moz really dug about Sally was that she reprogrammed his Sims game so his Neal, El, and Peter Sims would get in bed and make love without any of them getting jealous of each other.

Spock

[identity profile] ursula4x.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
So what if Moz spent some of his teen years jerking off to fan fiction he wrote that told the story of how Spock's life was saved by a brilliant teenage boy who relieved his pon farr symptoms when Kirk spurned the Vulcan's needs; everyone needs a hobby.

How like an angel

[identity profile] ursula4x.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
How like an angel, how like a fiend, El rode Neal in a silent, violent drive toward her completion as Peter, naked and bound, watched and waited to see if he would be allowed by his demon wife to come.

Re: How like an angel

[identity profile] surreal-44.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Oooooooooh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like this. A lot. Tied up Peter for the win! \o/

Mozzie - Agenda

[identity profile] surreal-44.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Mozzie hated the Suits, because they always had an agenda, and he was certain Peter had one towards Neal, so he waited and watched, and he finally realized that the only agenda Peter had on his mind was to give Neal happiness, and that was the day Mozzie fled in order to keep Neal safe.

Re: Mozzie - Agenda

[identity profile] ursula4x.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, poor Moz. Peter has so much and Moz so little.

Hook

[identity profile] ursula4x.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
If Neal was the juicy bait to get El back safely, Peter was the driving hook that would drag Keller up from the depths of hell to be gutted.

Re: Hook

[identity profile] surreal-44.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh. You're on fire tonight! :D

Providing leverage

[identity profile] ursula4x.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Neal's weight was not quite enough to get the car off the struggling man in the driveway, but all Neal had to do was pat the end of the rail from the garden and Satchmo, wagging his tail, jumped up on the end, lifting it, holding the rail up long enough for the man's screaming wife to pull him out safely.

Re: Providing leverage

[identity profile] surreal-44.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
Hero Satchmo!

Peter and Elizabeth -- Hook

[identity profile] surreal-44.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
Mozzie didn't trust anyone, but Peter used his status as an FBI agent as a bait and hook to lure Mozzie into his home, and then Elizabeth used her charms to get him into their bedroom.

Re: Peter and Elizabeth -- Hook

[identity profile] ursula4x.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
Nice. A Mozzie sandwich.

Withdrawal

[identity profile] ursula4x.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
Kate said that Neal would not believe how much he would enjoy making love on heroin, but what was harder to believe was the grinding, out of this world pain of withdrawal a month later; Neal would never try drugs again and broke up with Kate for two months until he realized she was a harder habit to break.

Re: Withdrawal

[identity profile] surreal-44.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh.

Sally - Agenda

[identity profile] surreal-44.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
She just wanted to expose the world to the greed of the wealthiest people in the world, and although it had gone horribly wrong, she thought she'd met a kindred spirit in Mozzie -- then she hacked into his account and found the feed for the treasure, and she knew they weren't on the same page at all.

Re: Sally - Agenda

[identity profile] ursula4x.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
That is a very cool motivation for Sally. I can understand Moz's desire for wealth and power, given his history, but at some point, you have to move away from the trauma of childhood and grow up.

June - Wide eyes

[identity profile] ursula4x.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
June had seen a lot in a long and adventurous life, but returning home unexpectedly from a cruise; her eyes were wide as she took in Moz dressed in a chicken suit as Neal crowed, mounting him.... even though she had long suspected that the two of them were up to some sort of fowl play.

-dies- -dies again-

This is almost as bad as my Neal and Mozzie-as-a-bear fill on the kink meme.

Mozzie -- Sleep

[identity profile] surreal-44.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
When the time comes, Mozzie slips a little something into Peter's coffee, and as he watches the agent nod into an exhausted slumber, Mozzie knows that by the time he wakes, Elizabeth will be on her way home, and he and Neal will either be dead or on their way to prison.

Re: Mozzie -- Sleep

[personal profile] greyminerva 2011-11-14 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
OMG! Oh noes! But still - yes, yes, yes - Mozzie owning up to his part in the disaster, taking responsibility and risking everything for El, and not letting Peter do it.

Alex -- Hollow

[identity profile] surreal-44.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
When Neal contacted her, she was filled with a mixture of dread and anticipation (a call from Caffrey was usually entertaining but full of trouble), but as she listened to him talk as he explained about Mozzie's death at the hands of Keller, she felt nothing but hollow as she realized she had to say good-bye to one more friend.

Satchmo -- Help

[identity profile] surreal-44.livejournal.com 2011-11-14 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
Satchmo was very interested in the many games his humans played, and he tried very hard to join in and help them, like when Daddy was fixing the cabinet door and Satchmo ran away with the hammer, or when Mommy played with her papers, he would take them, but the best times when he could help was when he knew one of them was sad, and he would kiss their hands or roll around with one of his toys until they laughed, and then he knew they'd be ok.
