More Adventures in Adulting - The Clean Sheets Edition

So, I hate cotton-polyester blend sheets (who doesn't), so I buy one-hundred percent cotton sheets.

I also have sensitive skin, so sheets with anti-wrinkle chemicals in them are verboten, as are sheets made in China.

I also hate wrinkled sheets and untreated cotton sheets wrinkle like Shar-pei puppies.

I also sleep with six pillows on my bed.

I also dislike short sheets, so my queen-sized bed uses a king-sized top sheet.

Did I mention how much I hate sleeping on wrinkled sheets? Because I really do.

Do you know what the solution is to sleeping on wrinkled sheets?

IRONING!

Yes, I just ironed two sets of bed linens - that's two king-sized top sheets and twelve pillow cases. Good thing I napped this afternoon.

Yes. I am a little nuts. But it's either that or sleep with insanely wrinkled sheets.

C'est la vie. It was just funny to imagine ironing sheets. All I care about with a bed is if there's room for me on it!

LOL Personally I hate bra shopping. The stores only ever have 1, 2 if you're lucky, in your size and style, if the style hasn't changed. But I can enough panties to change every day of the week.

Ironing: now where is my iron? Used only for finishing needlework!

This is a case of doing something I hate to get the results that I want. The definition of adulting.

Oh, we Always have our bedlinens ironed... Is that strange? I thought everybody did that?
And on the bra front, we have a brand called Marlies Dekkers, great quality in staff and they wake the shopping experience a little party (also for hubbie) and they Always fit beautifully. Love them, all my bras and bikinis are of Marlies.

My grandmother used to have her linens sent out to the Chinese laundry, but eventually my mother got sick and tired of it and bought her poly-cotton sheets. She never noticed the difference.

3 loads of laundry yesterday - all ironed.

New load of laundry currently being washed, will need to be ironed as well later.

Bed sheets is one of the few things I'm not ironing. You know why? Fitted sheets! Best invention ever. They can't wrinkle. :)

But I agree - adulting is hard!

Actually, my bed linens are pretty much the only thing I iron. And I don't iron the fitted sheet, just the top sheet (and sometimes just the placket, which is what really bothers me, tbh) and the pillow cases.

Adulting is very hard. I don't recommend it.

Ironing is the main reason I have a cleaning lady. She only comes every other week for 4 hours (it's a small flat, ok) and only spends about half an hour of that ironing, but it's a precious half-hour. And yes, it's very nice to have one's all-cottons sheets ironed.

I actually don't mind ironing the pillow cases, it's the enormous sheets. And on a hot spring afternoon, just not a pleasant task.

But getting into bed, sheets having that freshly ironed scent, it's definitely worth the effort.

Yeah, not particularly fond of ironing myself, but I didn't have a choice.
