Summary: Set in the Wonder(ful) Years ‘Verse, this story picks up immediately after the epilogue to the original story and the little Moz/Elizabeth ficlet, An Enviable Distraction, at the gang's thirtieth high school reunion. Old childhood traumas are revisited and wounds are healed.
For those who are unfamiliar with this ‘verse, it is an A/U where Peter and Neal and Moz and Elizabeth and Diana were friends since elementary school, and it follows their lives (mostly Peter and Neal) from childhood in the 1970's and '80s through to the modern day.
Written for
kidficstory, and based on the prompt “I have a confession to make” selected by my dear
pooh_collector for my 2013 Fic-Can-Ukah meme.
Author’s Note: In the original story for this ‘verse, Christie is occasionally mentioned as a friend of Elizabeth and Diana’s, but she never makes an appearance. The Christie in this story is not the same person.

Date: 2014-02-28 06:32 pm (UTC)I need some time to catch up on stuff but as soon as I read it I'll be back with a comment.
And wow, the artwork, amazing!!! The two boys on the swings, that's so them from the epilogue. Again a Kanarek to die for. Really, she always comes up with the most sweet art of our beloved characters.
Will comment at her LJ as well.

Looking forward, as always, to your feedback!

Date: 2014-03-02 02:36 pm (UTC)I love how you use the little canon details, like "Miss Jeffries, the librarian", and that bully Kramer getting a come-uppance.
The story of Neal befriending Mozzie made me happysad (poor Mozzie for having such a miserable home life, and poor Neal for losing his dad), and then happy that they have such a good life now.
The story of El and Diana's falling-out was kind of not a surprise, and I'm relieved they've resolved the misunderstanding, though sad they lost so many years of friendship.
Whatever the reunion was for everybody else, for the White Collar crew and their best friends it was definitely a time for reviving the best of their past.
