So I saw this posted early today and decided to wait until after I finished my work to just sit, relax and savor. I definitly savored and I already copied it into my Kindle to savor again and again.

I loved Mozzie's take charge attitude with Neal and the way you weaved the the cannon mythology into your own. Keller as a dirty F.B.I. agent was absolutely perfect.

I also could feel that if Keller weren't already dead, well, I can't see Peter killing someone not in the line of duty but Keller would not be happy about encounter.

It's also very believable that Neal would be so afraid, not only for himself but for any potential partners.

When I first conceived this story, Matthew Keller wasn't dead and had come back to hurt Neal. There was going to be a very tense moment with guns and such, but I decided to take the story in a different direction - make it more about recovery than pain.

Thank you so much - I've agonized over this story for well over a year. I was concerned that it was too a/u - that people wouldn't want to read a story where Neal wasn't a criminal.

I have to say this is an amazing fic and I am so glad that you went ahead and finished it. It is fresh original and Neal's hesitation and pain are just so 'in the gut'. I hope you revisit this verse at some time and gives us more. Really a lovely fic.
