Summary: As Neal’s parole winds down, Peter finds it easier to deal with his partner’s impending departure by not thinking about it. Neal is also in a quandary - he’s faced with choices he doesn’t want to make. Elizabeth knows that the problem is simply an inability to communicate.
A/N: Written for my dearest, most talented friend,
kanarek13, who asked for “The Horizon at Dusk - Peter/Neal”. Even though Chanukah has been over for a couple of weeks, I am still filling the extra prompts from my Fic-Can-Ukah 2012 Meme. This is the last story of 2012, my friends, but more to come soon!
The title is from the poem that Neal and Peter both reference, The Tale of Custard the Dragon, by Ogden Nash (1936).
