A/N: This is sort of an anti-wank fic – it came to me out of the blue. This is not my “official” MMOM entry for the 27th, that’s Liquid Mornings.

It has always bothered me that the character of Kate Moreau was little more than a McGuffin, a cardboard cut out, and even in the flashback episode, she was not a fully realized human being – but an idealized memory. I have tried to make her more complex, give her depth and flaws without evil or conniving.
