Summary: Obi-Wan Kenobi has never known it, but he has always been the Force’s Champion, destined to suffer infinite sadness in defense of the Light. On his last turn on the wheel, responsibility for The Chosen One, the false child of prophecy, had been thrust upon him with no warning, and Darkness held the upper hand.
But this time, the Force has marshaled its power and will protect its Champion until the time is right, no matter how long Obi-Wan has to wait and how much he has to suffer.
Or,
Obi-Wan is reborn as a twelve-year old.
He wakes up on a slavers’ ship, with all of his prior life’s memories intact, and he’s bound for Tatooine with a Force-inhibitor collar around his neck, a bomb implanted in his spine, and no way of knowing what state of the Galaxy is in.
Just another day in the life of the Force’s Champion.
Chapter Summary: Four padawans, life-long friends - Siri Tachi, Aayla Secura, Bant Eerin and Bruck Chun - are insanely curious about Qui-Gon Jinn’s new learner. Padawans don’t just pop up in the Temple like this without anyone knowing anything about them.
Right?

Meta - Chapter 19 - In the Silence Between the Winds, You Can Hear Again
As always, I am deeply grateful for all the love you’ve given this story, the outpouring of comments on the last chapter - the guessing on where the story is heading - makes me so very happy.
202,143 words, 40 chapters
I was out of town on a short holiday with fannish friends, spent a lot of time talking about the Story. Did not get a lot of time writing the Story. Actually, I found that while my friends’ new house (the attractive, healthy and married-to-each-other half of the awesome-beyond-words-awesome Braincell) is just delightful, I am an old fart who needs her desk and her rattle-tap keyboard with its noisy Cherry MX switches and her ancient desk chair that conforms to her ancient ass in order to write.
But fear not, the incredible baker of cookies and plot-cakes,
ell, has supplied me with many laminated ideas that I shall be incorporating into future chapters of this epic.
Chapter Nineteen is an interesting chapter. A homey one. Obi-Wan is settling into life as a padawan. You, as readers (and me, as writer) gets to explore that life and the people he encounters.
Siri Tachi
In the Jedi Apprentice books, she is Master Gallia’s padawan, but since I already had established that Adi Gallia didn’t have a padawan at this time, I’m giving her an OC as a Master. She’s a decent person, as you’ll find out.

Aayla Secura
In this timeline, Aayla Secura was not found by Quinlan Vos. That’s a bit of information only those who read this meta will know. Quinlan finds another fan-favorite female padawan. I’m making this change because Quinlan has been stuck on Tatooine for almost as long as Aayla has been in the Temple. The time doesn’t work. And by the way, in canon, Aayla was fifteen when Quinlan was on Tatooine during the events of TPM and supposedly she was with him, just not in the camera frame.

Bant Eerin
Sweet Bant is still sweet, and since her master, Tahl doesn’t get fridge, maybe she’ll stay on track for the archivist’s training and not become a healer? She is definitely on the field Jedi track, though, and doesn’t spend a lot of time in the Temple, so she and Obi-Wan don’t get to bond in this timeline.

Bruck Chun
I can hear the shrieking all the way back here, tucked in my office. But don’t worry, Bruck is, in this story, a Very Good Person. I have decided to rehabilitate some of the more notorious villains from the JA Books. So yes, in coming chapters, Xanatos du Crion will be getting the same treatment.

Obi-Wan and his Lightsaber Training
There’s not a lot I have to say about this section, but that it’s where the personality of the older Obi-Wan is finally beginning to merge with the younger Obi-Wan. The "old man" will pop up from time to time, but not as frequently, though. Putting a 'saber in his hands and letting him use his hard-won skills helps integrate those two personalities.
OOC Obi-Wan?
I wonder, is Obi-Wan too sensitive?
