I can cheerfully rec old canon for everything I'm fannish about - all of my fandoms either have closed canon or are in a long lull before new material.


White Collar - Although I'm not creating new fanworks for my first fannish love, Seasons One and Two of White Collar will always remain the ne plus ultra of OT3 perfection. The love between the characters and the friendships (and the bad guys and plot) are so rich and so perfect. While I enjoyed almost all of the series (Season 5 never happened, nor did the last fifteen minutes of Season 6), Seasons 1 and 2 are the best.

The Flash - It's a pity the show was cancelled fifteen minutes before the end of the last episode in Season 2. That's all I'm gonna say.

Kingsman: The Secret Service - I love the the fandom noped so hard about Harry Hart's death that the sequel brought him back. Pity Matthew Vaughn fucked everything else up. I'm at the point where I don't consider The Golden Circle canon, just a really bad and homophobic fanwork.

Morse'verse - Technically, since Endeavour has just finished filming Series 7 and is renewed for S8, canon isn't closed. But Endeavour is a prequel to Inspector Morse, and we know what happens, just not the details. Now, if someone gets their act together and signs Laurence Fox and Kevin Whatley to an Inspector Hathaway series, we'll get open canon.

Oh, man, White Collar! I went into this show shipping Neal and Peter because a) their relationship and b) that's what I do, lol! It's one of the first times I've seen and loved an OT3 pairing. Elizabeth was truly a darling.

Yeah, Elizabeth was so freaking awesome. And so was the relationship between her and Peter - they were truly the best married couple on television. They loved each other, trusted each other. No stupid jealousies (at least not until some completely f-d up eps in Season 4). Elizabeth didn't treat Peter like a moron and Peter didn't treat Elizabeth like a prop. I miss them so very, very much.

Early White Collar was just the BEST. I will always love that episode that Elizabeth finds the business card a woman slipped to Peter when he was undercover and asks if he flirted with the woman and he's hemming and hawing and worried she's upset but it turns out she's trying not to laugh because he's just so so terrible at flirting.

Bwhahahahaha re: your The Flash comment. Yes. Truly terrible they never made more.

I doubt Kevin Whatley would want to revist Lewis after playing the character for, what, practically 28 years? But it would be interesting if he did!

Season One of White Collar was pretty much as close to perfection as any television show has ever gotten. S2 was awesome, too - but S1 >>mwah!<<

Definitely a pity that The Flash cut out so abruptly, and right before the climax! But better than turn to shite the way so many other shows on the CW have done after being endlessly renewed. :)

Yeah, Kevin Whatley did say he was retiring from acting after Series 9 was done, but I don't know if it was because he'd been playing Robbie Lewis for 28 years. He'd starred in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet for 21 years (from 1983 to 2004). Laurence Fox has said that he'll do a Hathaway series but only with Kevin on board - that's what I'm hoping for.

I've only seen one or two episodes of Auf Wiedersehen and it was ages ago, I had no idea the show lasted that long.

Who knows, maybe he could be lured into revisiting Robbie for a tv movie type once-off thing rather than a series? I hadn't read that about Laurence Fox, that's sort of sweet.

I only saw White Collar a few months ago, and I agree with you! Apart from that I didn't really fell in love with the show until season 2. :)

Oh man, agreed on Golden Circle.

I was sort of carefully hopeful when I found out he was actually going to have survived in canon but wow that movie was sadly disappointing.

Lucky there is no shortage of actually great fix-it fanworks.
