I've been a little quite here on LJ the past few months, and my apologies. I come bearing a meme - a version of the DVD Commentary meme I love so much!
Look at my Masterlist or my AO3 Works page and ask me up to three questions about any fic:
1:What inspired you to write the fic this way?
2:What scene did you first put down?
3:What's your favorite line of narration?
4:What's your favorite line of dialogue?
5:What part was hardest to write?
6:What makes this fic special or different from all your other fics?
7:Where did the title come from?
8:Did any real people or events inspire any part of it?
9:Were there any alternate versions of this fic?
10:Why did you choose this pairing for this particular story?
11:What do you like best about this fic?
12:What do you like least about this fic?
13:What music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story? Or if you didn't listen to anything, what do you think readers should listen to to accompany us while reading?
14:Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic?
15:What did you learn from writing this fic?
And of course, if you want to play along, here's the text:

Date: 2016-08-31 02:03 pm (UTC)I am an almost pathologically linear writer, and can't think of a single time I didn't write the opening scene first.
Although I do have to say, I originally wrote David Seigel as an original character, but changed that once I realized how important a role he was going to play in the early part of the story.
5:What part was hardest to write? The scenes between Neal and Elizabeth. There was, when I'd started writing it, a tiny undercurrent of OT3 there, because I'd written so much P/E/N over the years, that I had to work hard not to bring her in, romantically.
6:What makes this fic special or different from all your other fics?
What an interesting question! I think the ending is what makes it very unique for me. I love happy endings, I rarely write unhappy endings, but also, I rarely write ambiguous endings, and the end of this is very ambiguous. You, the reader, don't know if Peter survives his cancer.
It's all very open ended.
