I don't know why, but after this movie came out, my sisters and I would say this line to each other whenever we couldn't figure something out, or say something the right way, or were just generally frustrated with life.

Even now, when I'm fumbling around with something – at work, while using a computer, beading, even writing, I find myself muttering "Don't be a baby, Duncan, say 'da-da'."

When this happens in public, boy do I get some strange looks!

I remember reading the book ages before the movie. An unconventional novel.

Little Big Man came out when I was in college. Our dorm had a pool table. There is a line about "snake eye", not that I remember it exactly now at all. Saying that line when trying to make a difficult shot always seemed to work once a game.
