Maybe my favorite room in House Wonderful – the kitchen. It’s truly the heart of my home, with its open plan and warm colors, it welcomes me every night and every morning. It’s calm and clean and even though I’ve been living in HW for less than two years, it’s already filled with the echoes of the happiness of my friends’ and family’s laughter. It is a place of great grace and will always be special to me and to those who visit.

I especially like the colored bottles. Is that a vase in the middle?

Thank you! And yes, it is - it's an ancient (ok, 1950's era) piece of crackle glass.

The bottles are new and seemingly unbreakable. They've fallen off the sill and onto the quartz countertops and haven't broken. Strange.

I found the bottles at a quirky home furnishing store and bought them because I wanted something to block out the view of my neighbor's messy back yard without really blocking the light. They are surprisingly durable, having survived falls off of the sill and onto the countertop.

The colors, esp in the morning, make me happy.

oh, you have a kitchen aid... They are sooooo expensive here in Europe. When I was in NYC I went to WS and they had them in a nice bright red.. drool... I really want one, my cakes will taste soooo much beter, LOL.

The are expensive here, too. It was a present from my sister many years ago.

yeah, but they are 2,5 x more expensive here, they are over 600 euro, and I saw them in NY for 270 dollars...
But hey, a girl can dream right? Hubbie knows the cakes will taste better :-)

Well, I can tell you that you'll never have to replace it. My mother had a kitchenaid stand mixer - it was a wedding present in 1947. I still have it, it still works.

You need to be in my seat for that angle. It's almost the same - the little vase in the center of the window isn't there anymore and the planter is different, but otherwise, yeah - it's the way it always is.
