I am, apparently, Sherlock Holmes

I took the “What Sherlock Character Are You?” quiz (it’s over at PBS.org) and was kind of surprised at the results. Apparently I am Sherlock Holmes (I thought I’d end up as Mycroft, tbh).

You may seem eccentric to others, but you are devoted to your small and close-knit circle of friends, and constantly working to assure the safety of others. You don’t do it for praise, or even thanks, or to make more friends; you do it because it is the rare occupation that can challenge your intellect, and to satisfy your strong sense of justice. You have nothing against oddballs—so long as they don’t decide they have the right to hurt others. You use your unique charm when you have to, to navigate society and invite confidences, but with your friends you are yourself, in all your manic energy and chaos and zest for life.

Date: 2014-02-05 02:18 pm (UTC)I personally can't stand (this version of) Sherlock, so I avoid this show like the plague, but I had to take this quiz, obviously.
Aaand...had a giggle fit at the second question (Achilles Heel) when the first option was "People say it is a lack of discipline". Spankies? *ducks and runs*
Anyway. My result?

You are a quiet person with an instinctive understanding of what others are thinking and feeling, but you also like to have a little spice in your life. The people you’re drawn to are reserved, and inward-focused, and don’t offer you many chances to get close, even when they value your emotional intelligence. They usually prefer your brisk, pragmatic, professional side, which allows you to make cool, objective judgments in difficult situations. You are undeterred by this, and continue to look for the person who needs both sides of you.
No clue if this is complete bullshit or totally me. *ponders*

Date: 2014-02-05 02:22 pm (UTC)I am sort of on the fence about the series - I like the acting (more for MF than BC), but the writing leaves me cold most of the time and seriously annoyed all of the time (it's the same reason why I avoid Dr. Who, namely Steven Moffett).

Date: 2014-02-05 02:31 pm (UTC)With me, it's totally BC. The guy is giving me creeps. I almost didn't watch the latest Star Trek movie because he played the bad guy. Plus, the whole concept of modern day Sherlock does nothing for me. *shrugs* (Now, Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes...mmmmhhh!!! :D)
And the whole Dr. Who phenomenon completely baffles me. I'm sure I'm missing out on stuff, but... *helpless shrug* (see also Torchwood)
