Impressed by his grit, Damien claims him and renames him, promising him freedom after seven years of service. But 'Cole' has a bloody past and secrets that will come back to haunt them both .

( Robin kept his promise to return in the morning and lead Cole and Damien through the marsh and back to the city—by a different route, Cole was almost certain, than he had brought them. Damien kept up a steady conversation with the high priest, but Cole fell a step behind them and allowed his mind to drift. )
