Impressed by his grit, Damien claims him and renames him, promising him freedom after seven years of service. But 'Cole' has a bloody past and secrets that will come back to haunt them both .
Notes: For those of you who have read other Halcrest stories, this one takes place before the events of Brothers of the Watch and The Outcast, but at the same time as Scarce Loyalty.
[Master Post]
Aubrey — no, he might as well accustom himself to ‘Cole’— swore under his breath as he tried to keep comfortable. The stitches in his stomach weren’t helping. Neither was the hard floor or the shackles on his hands and feet. He finally settled into a semi-seated position, leaning back against a post.
