Peter steps back to admire his handiwork.  It is a thing of beauty, shades of bright scarlet and hot pink, interspersed with white.  Neal might be an artist with paints and pastels, with marble and clay, but Peter's canvas is human flesh.  His tools are simple, just the flat of his hand, the end of his leather belt, a desk ruler.  He even counts his strokes - just enough to bring pleasure to the pain.

Yes, this is truly a masterpiece of flesh and blood, bruised roses painted on Neal's ass.  And like living roses, they will bloom and fade away.
