Oh, am I happy to be home.  Trip was good, but like I said yesterday...too many days with too many people.

I've got my computer, my bed and lots of fic to catch up on, as well as your comments on The Preamble.

Love you all so very much.

YAY YOU MADE IT!!!! :-) I haven't been able to sit down with "The Preamble" yet; it's like a treat I am denying myself while I catch up on the homework I missed while I was writing. ;-p It's how I roll.

Have a nice hot tea and chocolate chip cookies and reeeelaaaaaax. :-)

:) I do know and agree completely :)

Though I admit the older I get the more I feel like a curmudgeon missing my bed with it's temperpedic topper and doing like I like >_>

And I go to conventions for some of my other fandom interests and it's great to meet people and stay but it's a bit overwhelming having people with you 24/7 when you normally don't have to interact that much with people on a daily basis (though I know you have a significant other but I remember from my own days of living with someone that it's not quite the same!) :)

Welcome back!

I owe you a million reviews, but I don't have the excuse of going out of town. I've just been really lazy tired.

Proper review will follow (hopefully) but: I LOVED the preamble, possibly with the exception of the pregnancy one, because I'm being all ridiculous and am triggering over stupid things. :p Don't mind me.

But it was a great series, and I love that you tied in the Preamble to all the fics. And seriously...the Preamble is made of win anyway, so it's great you used it. :-D

I'm glad you enjoyed The Preamble...but I'm sorry that the one you mentioned had triggers for you. Should I have warned about something?

Nah. You can't warn for everybody, and I'm being overly-sensitive from PTSD. Basically, the issue surrounds the idea that because a couple is unable to conceive physically 'they can't have kids'.

This is of course, not entirely true. It's not your fault; I know your own circumstances and I am certainly not saying there's anything wrong with choices people make.

But there are other options, and it's come up a few times in fics where the idea of adoption has sort of just been tossed out the window, as if it wasn't a viable option at all.

Being adopted is tough enough; sometimes thoughtless wording can just hurt. And again, I know you didn't mean anything by it, and I'm sure no one else in the world of fanfiction means anything by it. Being a biological child is one of those things most people take for granted.

Even our beloved Willie Garsen made a comment about adoption that for a few days sent me into a spiral of fury. He didn't mean anything by it either, I'm sure.

Anyway, the rantings of an overly-sensitive person should not worry you. ^.^ I'm just through stuff. You know how it goes. :-D

Reviews will up today, I swear. Or tonight.

That's ok. But I am apologizing because my second comment was thoughtless towards you, and I'm really, really sorry about that because I wasn't trying to upset you.

I need to work on my communication skills, geez.

So I am sorry for being thoughtless. Please forgive me?

That the Huntington's part of the story is a dream sequence makes adoption an irrelevant part of the discussion - given El's reaction to the dream, it's clear that she doesn't want to have children.

Oh! I thought she was freaking out that she might be pregnant with Neal's child. Ooops.

And for what its worth, my eldest sister just happens to be adopted...and no one ever made any distiction amongst the three of us (She's 54 now).

I'm glad things went well for your sister. :-) I know there are plenty of excellent adoption stories out there. :-)

{{{{{{{{{{{Surreal}}}}}}}}}} I understand your feelings but from a different perspective. Mine is from being the nonbio mom of my kid. I never "had kids", never gave birth, but Ivy is as much my kid as if I had. I have an amazing heart connection with her. Blood may be thicker than water, but soul's got it all over blood.

As much as I love Elr, I don't think you're being over-sensitive. It takes people like you to wake the rest of us up to the truth of things. Your sensitivities are essential to making the world at large a more sensitive and aware place.

Congratulations!!!! It's a tough job, but I'm so glad you've been called to it (and adoption is a calling). I am so happy for the both of you!

It takes people like you to wake the rest of us up to the truth of things. Your sensitivities are essential to making the world at large a more sensitive and aware place.

Thank you. I try not to drag out the pity card too often, but it has been very tough for my sister and I (we are not blood related, but adopted by the same family) to gain acceptance from other members of the family. Not to mention school guidance counselors, friends, even some of our boyfriends have said hurtful things without even thinking of it.

So...in short, thank you! And again, congratulations! -hugs-
