Okay, so I took a picture of the two rolls of toilet paper that are ALWAYS in the corner of the stall in the ladies room at my office. It’s still interesting and it’s still something I see every working day.

Something You Made For Just Yourself

I think, of everything I’ve ever written, this may be my absolute best and favorite story. I wrote it when I was taking a break from another story, which one, I don’t remember. I do remember; however, that when I was writing it, that I didn’t want to share any of it with any of my writing partners and friends. I was feeling very fragile, almost blocked, and it wasn’t uncommon (and still isn’t) for me, when talking about a story, to get thrown out of it by a single negative comment - no matter how well meaning.

I think this one took about ten days, start to finish, and when I finished, I felt like I’d accomplished something completely different and possibly quite wonderful. I also realized, after after finishing it, that this quite nicely filled a fic request for my friend damietta for the Help Queensland Charity Auction. I still think it counts for this day, because when I wrote it, I wrote it for myself. There was no outside inspiration or intention to write for someone else.
