2013 was the first year I didn't host any sort of prompt fest on my journal since I started in fandom, which was a total shame, because I've always felt like these fests are a great way to get people involved in writing who might otherwise not want to publish in the greater community.

They are also a lot of work, and I did a terrible job of managing the last two I ran, never going back after the first few days and totaling up the contributions. It is a lot of work and for various (and probably inexcusable reasons) I fell down on the job.

Looking back at 2013, I think I didn't do a 'fest because the year started out on a really bad foot and it felt like - at least for the first four months - I was playing catch-up with my life. Then I (and a lot of other people in WC fandom) fell into a whole bunch of challenges - Pairings, WC Big Bang, then other big bangs and then Nano and Yuletide. I know that the White Collar Reverse Big Bang in on, but it's early days yet and perhaps the time is right to host a 'fest.

That being said, here's a poll:

[Poll #1950404]

I want your input because without you, this would be meaningless. If I do this, I'd like to start it tonight or early tomorrow so we can spend the holiday writing!

Summary: Another year comes to an end, and Peter is filled with regrets for wounds that haven’t healed, and may never heal. He doesn’t know that he has reason to hope.

Author’s Note: Happy New Year to all my dear friends in the White Collar fandom. I wanted to end this year on a happy (or at least, less angsty) note. It was difficult when listening to the Dougie MacLean version of the famous Robert Burns song, but hopefully I’ve succeeded.
