I hate Word. I hate PCs. And while I probably shouldn't be writing fic on my office laptop, there is no reason why the mfthing had to eat nearly 500 words of my WC-CM crossover fic. Plus some good polishing.

Consider this notice, Windows. Your days as a porn writing tool are numbered. A month to go until the Demon Goddess' iPad arrives. There will be no joy for you anymore. It'll just be contracts and nasty letters from then on.

Those 500 words. They were good porn. I need to go sit shivah.

My condolences! It's a sick feeling to lose your work. My partner and I had a computer die on us, and we lost a novel-length story we'd written together. I cried for about 3 hours and thought I would throw up more than once.

(And while you're waiting for the iPad, can I recommend google docs? I know a lot of folk don't like it, but it autosaves ALL THE TIME. And as I am a computer killer, that means a lot to me...)

Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried using G-docs, but I am not comfortable with it. But giving yesterday's disaster, I'm going to try it again.
