Summary: Obi-Wan Kenobi has never known it, but he has always been the Force’s Champion, destined to suffer infinite sadness in defense of the Light. On his last turn on the wheel, responsibility for The Chosen One, the false child of prophecy, had been thrust upon him with no warning, and Darkness held the upper hand.
But this time, the Force has marshaled its power and will protect its Champion until the time is right, no matter how long Obi-Wan has to wait and how much he has to suffer.
Or,
Obi-Wan is reborn as a twelve-year old.
He wakes up on a slavers’ ship, with all of his prior life’s memories intact, and he’s bound for Tatooine with a Force-inhibitor collar around his neck, a bomb implanted in his spine, and no way of knowing what state of the Galaxy is in.
Just another day in the life of the Force’s Champion.
Chapter Summary: Bail is not quite sure what’s going on, but he’s very, very happy to see Obi-Wan and he’ll play along if it means seeing the last of that asshole, Cornen Pre.

A LOT OF NEW WORDS THIS WEEK! Over 6k in a week! I haven’t written this much on this story in months. I am excited about where it’s going, and the words are flowing and wheeee, I’ve got the ending in my head. Which is subject to change, of course.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
So. I kind of feel bad about how easily the whole thing with Bail got resolved. No fireworks, no heads rolling, no big Force shenanigans. No speeder chases. Just walking away. All that build-up and poof! Obi-Wan’s Force-gift just steps in and fixes everything.
Pity it won’t work that way when it comes to the Sith.
But it’s good to see Bail, and see him happy and healthy and sane, no?
Sadly, there isn’t a whole lot about Alderaan in Star Wars lore. Wookieepedia has a bit, but it’s regurgitating what was in The Illustrated Star Wars Universe, first published in 1995, with artwork by the noted Star Wars illustrator Ralph McQuarrie and text by Kevin J. Anderson, also a veteran Star Wars writer. The richly illustrated book is a travelogue of sorts, visiting all of the major worlds of the original trilogy, Tatooine, Dagobah, Hoth, Endor, Bespin and Cloud City, Yavin 4, plus Coruscant (then referred to as Imperial Center) and lastly Alderaan. Given the inclusion of Coruscant, and the publication date, it’s likely that this book was part of a ramp up for the Prequels that would be coming out in a few years.\

For all that this book was published in the mid-90s, the illustrations seem right out of the 1950s atomic age
The section on Alderaan is written by a survivor of the destruction, and leans into the idea of Alderaan as the Garden of the Galaxy. A planet with great grassy plans, who has a population that believes in ecological balance. The novel, Leia, Princess of Alderaan departs a bit from the "great grassy plains" bit, giving the planet more of an forested, alpine cast (Breha, Queen of Alderaan, had been badly injured in a mountain climbing accident), which was depicted in the Kenobi series.
I’m very partial to the romance of the high alps — be it Europe, the Himalayas, the Andes, or the American Rockies. The quality of light just makes something in my soul sing. So, I’m giving my blorbos a little vacation amongst the trees and the clouds.
