Summary: Obi-Wan Kenobi has never known it, but he has always been the Force’s Champion, destined to suffer infinite sadness in defense of the Light. On his last turn on the wheel, responsibility for The Chosen One, the false child of prophecy, had been thrust upon him with no warning, and Darkness held the upper hand.
But this time, the Force has marshaled its power and will protect its Champion until the time is right, no matter how long Obi-Wan has to wait and how much he has to suffer.
Or,
Obi-Wan is reborn as a twelve-year old.
He wakes up on a slavers’ ship, with all of his prior life’s memories intact, and he’s bound for Tatooine with a Force-inhibitor collar around his neck, a bomb implanted in his spine, and no way of knowing what state of the Galaxy is in.
Just another day in the life of the Force’s Champion.
Chapter Summary: Quinlan Vos explains to the High Council, in detail, just how he connected Komari Vosa to the Lost Youngling. Despite some initial skepticism, the Council eventually accepts his word.
Vos doesn’t know how the Council proceeds. They kick him and Kenobi out, and Kenobi decides he’s going to watch over him for the foreseeable future, which means inviting him to dinner with some friends. Quinlan doesn’t object, it’s been ages since he’s had a meal at Dex’s.

As always, I am deeply grateful for all the love you’ve given this story, the outpouring of comments on the last chapter — the guessing on where the story is heading — makes me so very happy.
306,500 words, 54 chapters
Writing is picking up pace, thank the Force. I really do need the distraction from the shitshow in the real world.
Thank you to all the lovelies who have pressed the kudos button. This fic has crossed the 1200 kudos mark. That is a spectacular accomplishment for me, since I’m not a luminary in this fandom. And with this week’s chapter, From All The Spaces Between Times is officially my longest published written work ever.
Chapter 36 is, in a way, begin a kind of a closure point on certain plot points and characters. I am not saying who and what, because I don’t want to spoil anything for next week, when things turn dark for certain people. Or actually, the light(Ning) is turned up to maximum brightness.

I suppose I should chat a bit about Watto’s fate. The old bug really met a bad end, didn’t he? And he certainly deserved it. Slave-holder, degenerate gambler, predatory business owner who often took advantage of his customer’s misfortunes. In canon, Watto managed to stay in business, despite losing Anakin to Qui-Gon in The Phantom Menace and then selling Shmi to Cliegg Lars off screen in Attack of the Clones. After the fall of the Republic, when Obi-Wan was in exile on Tatooine, Watto had sold a vaporator to him at a highly inflated price. This is another obscure bit of canon from the short story collection From a Certain Point of View, "Time of Death" by Cavan Scott".
The scene in the Embassy between Obi-Wan and Anakin might just be my favorite interaction between the two of them through the entirety of Book III.
They are really meeting as equals right now. Anakin isn’t seeing Obi-Wan as a padawan, even one who might have prodigious gifts. And Obi-Wan doesn’t look at Anakin at see his own lost padawan. He truly does see a friend, a brother. He’d used those words to describe Anakin in the other timeline but he never meant them as fully as he does in this moment.
Hope you enjoyed this chapter and all of the loose threads I’ve managed to tie off. I’m sure careful readers are going to find a whole blanket full of other threads to unravel. I’m looking forward to reading about those!
