Ooooh, for 2021? Hmmm. This has been a year of transition between
fandoms, changing up processes, finding myself as a writer again.
I am a writer who really has always embraced a lot of words. I like plot.
No, I love plot. The more plot, the better. And what I love more
than plot is dialogue. And you know what happens when you combine plot and
dialogue? LONG STORIES. This year, I got one monster of a story going and
while, at one point, I thought it would be done around the 150k mark, I'm
thing I'm going to pop my 200k cherry with this one. Which doesn't leave a
lot of room for other stories, sadly. But I have managed a few honest to
goodness short fics (less than 2k) in fandoms I never expected to write for.
For you, my dearest friend from the very beginning of my time in fandom, I
actually wrote Star Trek TOS!!!!! It's a short bit of silliness: Stardate: Ferrari, and while
it's under 500 words, it's got dialogue and competence porn and I'm pretty
darn proud of it.
For my bestie and dearest enabler, Kyele, I wrote two ficlets for her in
her heritage fandom, BBC's Musketeers and they are the best porn I've
written in a very long time: Sacrement (this could get me
excommunicated if I was Catholic), and The Taste of You Upon My
Tongue (You'll never think of hot chocolate the same way again).
