Dear flist:
It's all your fault I've just dropped a grand with Apple. You write such amazing White Collar stuff - h/c, gen, and porn. Especially the porn. But I'm going blind reading it on my iPhone.
Thanks. I love you all to bits.
Elr.
PS - Anyone want to buy a Kindle?

Do you use instapaper to read on your iphone? i feel that that really saves my eyes with the black background and white text and ability to increase font!

Date: 2010-03-20 12:15 am (UTC)I have a fantastic music recommendation for you - Alan Hovhaness, an American composer (based in Seattle). Not as rhythmic as Glass, but extremely evocative. I would start with Khrimian Hairig and Prayer of St. Gregory.
Another composer I love is Zbignew Preisner. He does a lot of movie scores, but he also composes in more classical forms as well. I first heard "Requiem For My Friend" on an overnight flight from London to New York (it was playing on the airplane radio), and I fell in love.
Paul Horn may be more "New Age" than classical, but he's also a wonderful composer and good study-to music. Check out Africa and Inside the Cathedral.
That should get you started.
