I confess to being a bit burned out. Stuck. On the uphill side of a hump. I can see the story that I want to tell, but I can't make it happen.
So, I needed a break. Not from being creative, but from writing - for just a little while. A few days - a weekend - to recharge the batteries, so to speak.
Yesterday, my friend V and I drove down to Valley Forge/King of Prussia for a bead show. I think this is the last time we'll make that journey. It's almost 8 hours of driving, and frankly - after going to the Tuscon gem and bead shows...this a little like shopping at a very expensive and poorly stocked corner market when you're used to Fairway.
Today, I tried to get the next chapter of Vampire World out, but it just wasn't happening. I did have fun with this week's White Collar 100 prompt, which practically wrote itself (it was Neal and Mozzie, a pair that I love to write). But I'm kind of stuck on the bigger projects. Like I said, I needed a break from the writing.
And so, I made this:

It's not crocheted, it's done using a modernized version of the ancient Japanese braiding technique called kumihimo. It was very relaxing, and I got to watch a few episodes of Torchwood while I worked on it. I had not watched TW before. And I love it - but I am staying away from that fandom. White Collar is more than enough for me.
So, hopefully, my writing juices will start running again tomorrow, and I'll be able to finish the difficult Chapter XIII for Vampire World for posting tomorrow night.
And on Tuesday - Peter in short sleeves. UNF!UNF!UNF!UNF And Mozzie's Apartment! YEAH!
