There is a surprisingly strong contingent of Collars who really want to have Kate survive, and I've seen some pretty wild picspam analysis
But when you look at the moving footage and the timing of events, there is just no way that Kate got off the plane in the 22 seconds between the last shot of her face in the window and the plane blowing up. Even if she was heading down the stairs as the plane blew, she would have been toast.
The minutes are counting down:
2:49 - Neal arrives and sees Kate at the plane door
2:42 - Peter arrives, and calls out "Neal"
2:40 - Kate ducks back into the plane
1:57 - Black car rolls in the far distance (I think this was just a car in the background, and probably should not have been in the shot, but I could be wrong - unlikely though it seems).
1:39 - Neal says "I gotta go" and walks to the plane
1:20 - Neal says "You were the only one who could change my mind"
1:16 - Kate is at the plane window
1:00 - Neal stops
0:57 - Neal turns around
0:55 - Neal says "Peter"
0:54 - Plane explodes
There is no back door or interior/exterior cargo hatch on these little executive jets (looks like a Bombardier LearJet 40 XR).
