And it was AWESOME!!!!!!!

And if anyone (cough - George Lucas - cough) had any doubts about Han shooting first, rest assured, a man who'd casually throw an enemy into the mouth of a rampaging monster (what where those things called??? Raznors, Ravenors?) wouldn't have hesitated to shoot Greedo first.

And likely spoilers in the comments, so be warned.

AMEN, SISTER!

Saw it twice on opening weekend, and I must say, it's actually better the second time. No lie.

THIS. So. Much. This. Why doesn't Lucas get this about Han, or get that that's why we love Han so much?.

I too saw it twice opening weekend. I am one of the few that actually saw Star Wars (before it was called A New Hope) in the theaters in 1977. TFA is glorious and when Rey called for the lightsabre - I cried! It was very much like the moment when I awaited Eowyn to say "I am no man". It was everything I wished for and more!!

(and I think I am going to see it again tomorrow)

I saw it Friday morning opening weekend. The IMAX show was full and we opted for the real 3D show which was 95% empty. My DH who normally hates 3D really liked the 3D effects. From the opening star background it had me. Sure it's a deja ju of the 77 original (how many times did I see that in the theatre) which was both comforting and annoying. Enjoyed the in jokes and references to the original. Did just watch a nod to Phil Tippet who did stop motion characters of the chess set, designing Jabba the hut , found it on Geeks of Doom. Little disappointed by father/son but it is a nod to original series. Will probably see it again fairly soon.

So who looks good in orange: rebel alliance pilots! But now they wear red.

It was great. You wrote - I did get hit hard with a sense of deja vu as the opening sequence started. Hubby and I agree with you. The scroll was like the originals and all the call backs to the original made me feel like it was a continuation of the story 30 years later. The new characters were good and the familiar ones blended into the story as well. We are planning to see it again.
