This is just exquisite, and it feels sooooo true to what "should" happen. Like you, I doubt we'll ever get to see them have this deep a conversation, but that certainly doesn't mean the emotions aren't there, regardless of what ends up on-screen.
And I love all the "little" bits you included, Peter and his wine choices, and El knowing not only that Neal needs to talk, but that he needs to talk to *Peter*, and... just all of it.
This is just absolute perfection, seriously. Now if only the show will do something even remotely as satisfying ;-)
