Loved the fic, but I don't think Neal's right. Those deaths weren't actually his fault. And while I understand why he felt bad about Amy, he's a victim too. He didn't choose to con her, he wasn't using her for personal reasons; it's a case, a FBI case, Peter insisted when he wanted to leave Amy out of it. If Neal hadn't gone to talk to her, she would have been dealing with Keller, which is way worse.
Don't get me wrong, I liked your story and Neal's feeling that guilty in the show. It's just I disagree with him and I'm glad Peter disagrees too.
