I really don't know what to say

So I'll come out and say it.  I wrote White Collar death fic.

A serious death fic.  4300 words long.  It's also an insanity fic. 

You know the rabbit in Donnie Darko?  Well, it's been the plot bunny that's been eating away at my cerebral cortex until I finished it.  Now that it's out of my system, I can get back to V-world and the three bingos and the Small Fandomfest pieces.

Objectively, I think its well written, it's got a full dramatic arc, and my wonderful writing partner, gyzym tells me that the character voices are in canon. But it's death fic, it's very, very dark and heartwrenching and there is just no happy ending, although there is a full measure of comfort.  I am afraid that I'm sounding all self important, but I fear this piece of writing.  Okay, I fear reaction to this piece of writing - like, HOW THE HELL COULD YOU DO THAT TO ME?
