Oh man, I remember those commercials from the early 80s! They were frustrating because we didn't actually HAVE Carvel stores where I lived, but we got channel 11 out of NYC. They also advertised a lot of cool-sounding summer camp programs that totally didn't pick up where I lived. LOL
