I feel kind of validated for not having liked/trusted/believed in Rebecca from the get-go. She rubbed me the wrong way the second I saw her, but I tried to give her a chance at first. Didn't work. The more I saw of her, the more I wanted to get rid of her, and I'm glad it ended like this.
It gave me emotional Neal whump (and sadly, a lack of real physical whump...couldn't she have aimed just a wee bit better?). It gave me Peter and Neal slowly reconciling somewhat, and working together as a team again. It gave me awesome!conflicted!conman!Neal in all his glory (Matt acted the living daylights out of these scenes!). Hell, it gave me Neal in his leather jacket. I'm sold. *g*
What I still don't get is the motivation. Are we supposed to believe that WhatsHerName pulled this elaborate con, finding a way to use Neal and Hagen, fool paranoid!to!the!extreme!Moz and set everything up like this...for the twin of the Hope Diamond? How did she even know about the treasure being the diamond? For that, she must've figured out the Codex before sending her band of merry conmen on a wild goose chase. No makey sensey. *handwaves*
Yes, I also thought El would tell Peter she's pregnant, and I CRINGED. Thank goodness it was the new job instead. Though it confuses me a little how enthusiastic El is about this. I mean, yay, hubby moves up the greasy pole. Yay, new opportunities! Yay, no more kidnappings or being shot at or ending up in car accidents. But what about her own business? Up and leaving within 2 weeks?! Maybe it's because I'm European and Americans tend to move around a lot more and set up camp thousands of miles from home time and again, but this seemed a bit odd to me (given the character). *shrugs*
I did like that she asked/was worried about/felt for Neal.
I loved Moz and his impromptu dinner-on-the-floor with Neal. Oh Moz. ♥
BTW, hon, it's only one ep left this season, not two. (WOE!)
And I'm hoping for something really tragic to keep us on the edge of our seat. I mean, Diana will be back! \o/ Maybe Neal will get shot (WTF was he talking about, he wants his sentence over? How's that supposed to work?) Maybe El gets Elnapped again as leverage. Maybe the Burkes move to DC only to find out it was a dirty trick by Bruce. (Jones was the mastermind behind everything! I knew it all along! He hired Rebecca to set this whole thing up while blackmailing Bruce to move Peter to DC! He's had his eyes on Peter's/Hughes' job from the get-go! *g*)
Maybe Peter sits down one rainy Sunday afternoon in DC and reads Neal's childhood file and realizes he's actually fathered the guy with that one sperm donation he did when he needed extra cash for that trip to Mexico as 16-year-old (he looked older and had an awesome fake ID). He's then glad that he never boffed his pet con because, ya know, eww? But hmm...the thought of Neal and El together kinda turns him on even more now. (Not to mention that El loves the idea of shagging father and son.)

Okay, I'll stop now. *slinks away*
