I think I'd go insane with an hour in the car each way... I hate taking the train because I get antsy after sitting still for so long.
Promptfest is different from the prompt memes...it's more of a free-flowing writing exercise. I post a list of prompts and you write to one and then give me a prompt to write. When they work (and I don't find myself chasing a rabbit down a hole), it's a great way to write a lot of short fics in a very short time (my record is 17 prompts filled in one day).
