Neal never seemed to me to be a man to hold a grudge or resentment against anyone who had a more normal life than he had. And here I get the impression that he relives his childhood through Peter, that he replaces the bad memories with Peter's good ones. Which you captured in an absolutely delicious and wonderful way.
