This could not have had a better ending, nor could this whole story have been any more achingly lovely.
Just a few things I want to hit upon.
Neal and HUGHES!!! This scene was perfect in every way, from what Hughes states about his admiration for Neal (tear worthy) to the tale of James's confession. I still don't know how I feel about the man's motivations, so I'm glad you left it ambiguous.
El's jerking off line, fantastic. I loved the scene between her and Neal in his apartment, his uncertainty, her acceptance.
Peter's reluctance to talk to El about Neal.
PLOT!
I really liked how you resolved the open issues from the show. I hope Eastin is paying attention, at least to the ready for prime time bits.
