I love how you brought Neal's boyhood dream of owning a dog true by getting him to have the honor walking Satchmo on Sundays. That was a great connection, and it made me so happy for him.
And I also loved that Neal wormed his way into being family at Peter and Elizabeth's by showing up and reaching out for it - so often in fics, we see Peter and El bringing him into their home - it's so rarely the other way around. Neal rarely takes what he needs, but I love that he did it here.
And this line was amazing and thought-provoking: Observing them, one gets the sense that the leash the man carries is simply for show; that it's there because a dog on a leash is part of the natural order of things, as opposed to a man on a leash. Satch and Neal are more alike than they realize - *smooshes them both*
