I am lucky - because genetics is not on my side. My mother and father, my grandmother had terrible teeth. Though much (most) of their problems could be ascribed to heavy smoking. And drinking too much cola.
My sister, who doesn't smoke, but had problems with her teeth from babyhood, and is obsessive about toothcare, still has lots of problems. She showed me her xrays - I couldn't believe how many crowns she has. Good thing she's a dentist.
