I had been a fan of Morse - mostly a fan of Sergeant Lewis (tbh), and I always thought he never got the credit he deserved for his own intelligence.
My primary fandom - White Collar - has a similar problem to how Hathaway has been drawn in some fics. There is a very strong tendancy to woobify Neal Caffrey - whether it's because of prison trauma or his childhood - and yet he's supposed to be this incredible con man who can do everything.
