Meme: Fic Recognition Meme

Ganked from the awesome angelita26, and it’s an oldie but a goodie.

I probably shouldn’t be doing this meme, for so MANY reasons, not the least of which is that I still need to write the final scene for my Big Bang. Second reason is that I’ve written nearly 600 stories and the odds of me remembering a specific passage from a specific story are slim to nil. But I do love this meme. The last time I played it was in 2011 and I had a little less than 300 stories to my name. Now… yikes!

From my Masterlist, find a fic and choose a passage.

Then, post your passage in the comments below, and I will try to guess which fic it's from. If I get it correct, I'll share some information about the story - backstory, character motivation, possible future story ideas or cookies, etc. If I get it wrong, you'll get to give me a brief A/U prompt and character(s) for a three-sentence ficlet.
