A Meme! A Meme! What's On YOUR Desktop?
Oct. 28th, 2012 08:19 pmI'm sick and tired of worrying about Sandy and the potential catastrophe, so distract me, my friends.
Tell me all about what's on your desktop. The real one, not the virtual one, that is.
You don't have to mention the usual stuff (computer, monitor, mouse, etc.), unless you want to. And if you can, attach pictures.
My desk is now significantly smaller in the new office. The return wouldn't fit, so I had to ditch it. I'll need to find a replacement soon, because I'll need to set up the printer and scanner at some point.
Anyways... On MY desk:
A pile of mail and house related paperwork.
A pretty recipe box filled with index cards that have software and hardware serial numbers (I am SO old skool about some things).
A Waterford crystal pen holder and pen, which was a gift from my dad when I got my first job as a lawyer.
The day's jewelry - opal ring, kyanite ring, silver bracelet, watch and caterpillar necklace:
( Necklace )
Y2k era Harvard Law School Program of Instruction for Lawyers mug of pens and pencils and tools, including hammer, forceps and carpet knife.
Bottle of club soda, chill cup and straw, bottle of still water.
Art deco cut glass jam jar (the sterling silver lid was stolen during my tag sale in 2011), filled with memory cards and readers.
Solid iron cog purchased from the then-closing Scalamandre factory in Long Island City. It's really a thing of beauty:
( Iron Cog )
Andthe first ten people anyone who replies in a comment to this meme will get a bonus Bomer!
