The Yellow Dust
May. 10th, 2010 02:23 pmThis is the 8th day of the yellow dust. It's coated everything in my bedroom - because I can't bear to sleep with the windows closed. It's drifted into the carvings on the furniture, turned my lovely ash-pink velvet comforter a not-so-lovely shade of orange, and clogged up the vents on the cable box and TV.
Such is the trial of living in the middle of an area filled with all sorts of pines and conifers. The only good thing is that the pollen is so huge, relatively speaking, that it doesn't bother my allergies at all (it's too big to pass through the nasal membranes).
I just keep dusting and dusting - and have gone through almost half a jumbo box of Swiffer dust thingies. Normally, I hate using disposible cleaning products, but these are the only ones that catch the dust and don't just move it around.
This will end soon. Another week or so. I hope.
