I'm not much of an app freak.  I don't buy too many apps for my iPhone - I have a few games that I like, some utilities, some productivity apps that I constantly use, but I really don't load up on photo apps.  Mostly because I don't use the camera all that much, unless I am on vacation.

However, a few days ago, I read not one, not two, but three glowing reviews for a "picture toy" app called Phototrophic, which turns your photos into something that looks like it came out of a Haight-Ashbury headshop, circa 1969.  You have to play with the settings - I prefer to use the colors in the original photos, and you can select the number of colors and levels of complexity.
