Carnivale - Initial Thoughts
May. 3rd, 2010 03:37 pmHaving posted not one, but two fics yesterday, I decided to give myself a break from the porn writing, and started watching Carnivale. Didn't get too far into the first episode - the phone rang and then other distractions popped up, but from what I saw, I must say I really liked it.
It's different - spooky, like Twin Peaks was, but not quite the same. Knowing that the series never really ended is a bit of a bummer.
Two brief comments.
1 - I didn't know Patrick Bauchau was in this. He has always been a favorite of mine - from Kindred - The Embraced to The Pretender. Without having any awareness of fandom, I was always 'shipping Sydney and Jared. Gah!
2 - Jonesy IS Peter Burke in a leg brace and nose protheses. In his very first scene, he's already coming to the rescue!
