Playing Hooky at a White Collar Location Shoot

I didn't quite call in sick today. Just said i had an appointment.

So, I'm at the corner of 46th St. and 1st Ave. New Yorkers know where that is, but I'm not going to say more, since that could be a spoiler. They haven't started filming yet, so my only highlight is seeing the cart with the actors' chairs.

The young production assistant I asked about the location shoot was astonished that I travelled in just to see the filming She is obviously not a fan.

Ooh. Cool. Looking forward to hearing (and seeing) more. Just out of curiosity, how did you find out where they were going to be shooting today?

When I was at the Paley event, I sat next to a woman who had done several location visits - she goes to www.onlocationvacation.com to find out when and where they are shooting.

We had hit it off and discussed going together to a shoot - she emailed be yesterday morning, and that as they say, was that.

Well tim and matt where at that location yesterday so you could get lucky its them again. They seem to be on the streets of new york the rest of the week.

They were shooting outside until 2ish and then they were moving inside for the rest of the day. According the the producer I talked with, they were indoors in Silvercup the week before last, when it was hot, and they'll be on location for the rest of the week.

Oh, yes. Definitely not a fan. If I'd have been her, I'd be more surprised there weren't a few more people there already. To be in a city were active filming takes places is just exciting to me. I'm just a tad envious. ;D

The thrill wears off, fast. Unless it's a show you adore, as in this case, it's just a big pain in the neck. Most NYers feel that way about filming, anyway, and I certainly did when I lived there, although they didn't film much in my particular area. I think SVU did something on the Columbia campus - where I was, obviously - at one point while I was living there, but that's about all I can remember.

It wasn't that she wasn't a fan - she just had no people skills. I had spoken with a lot of the production crew (we were there for nearly 5 hours), and without exception, they were delightful. This girl was a bitch.

I live very close to NYC. How did you find out where they were going to be filming? I kind of have agoraphobia issues that make the city very unpleasant for me, but for Matt and Tim, I would probably push myself (plus take a lot of Ativan) and get there anyway.

Okay, this is outrageously exciting, but I did a brow furrowing on the location and came up with the United Nations / Tudor City. I'm assuming it's the UN (don't pelt me with vegetables, anyone interested could google it, I'm sure).

Well, they smelled like MEN. Good, clean Man Smell, with just a hit of fruitness. Which was probably the hairspray.

I came back here to see if you'd posted photographs and, alas, you have not. I could use a photograph of three pretty people in my life right now; please do post at least one (if you feel comfortable so doing, of course). If not that, MORE DETAILS. How'd you get to them? Were you really lucky, or do you think anybody showing up at the scene might have gotten to meet them? I need to know, because I sure as hell am not drugging myself and dragging myself into NYC if I'm not going to get to meet them. That would be really uncool.
